If Not 4 You

Why do I waste my time with words?

When there is so much more to life than that,

Their hearts are just as barren,

As the shattered remains of my soul,

I only remember that which is memorable.

His dark heart draws me in closer,

It seems my life has no meaning,

Could this be true? All because of you?

We are small, and insignificant,

Before your wondrously cruel eyes.

People are shallow, they worry about petty things,

If only I had the courage to change from this,

Hating them all so much more,

As each meaningless day passes us by.

I could not bear it any longer,

If not for your kind yet menacing stare,

Such a burden this dreary life has become,

I dream of the day when you will come for me,

For I would not be here at all,

If not for you.
