What makes a Cybertronian? Is it what's on the outside that makes a bot? What about their faction? Surely that's it. It must be, for we all know that all Autobots are the heroic saviors, and Decepticons are hate-filled monsters. It's just that simple, and that's the way thing are. However, what does it mean when a Decepticon does something valiant? Could it go farther than this? Perhaps, it's really the spark – the soul- that makes a bot. although, some bots think faction is more than enough.
Take Starscream for example.
Ghoul was an attractive enough femme. It was plain as day to anyone who laid optics on her; She was a nimble femme- a dancer before the war- yet her frame was incredibly durable under fire. Nevertheless, she was a Decepticon, yet is that all she is? Either way, her are looks aren't the reason why Starscream valued her. It's not like he held any affection for her, or cared for her well-being. What is important is that she is a Decepticon, and she always follows commands.Even if that command was to retrieve corpses to be reformatted into drones. She understood the need for efficiency, and having to construct a drone from the ground up was a task Starscream loathed.
She held not much knowledge in science, and she didn't care to question how he went about it beyond her own involvement; Gathering the materials and reinforcing them with her peculiar knack for altering the properties in metals. This being a very large factor of why she was the one chosen for the task of retrieving the remains because not only does her ability allow her to strengthen metals, but it can also be utilized by making the materials lighter and easier to transport by temporarily changing its composition to that of more frail metals.
But as Starscream is a mech of science, he could not resist the opportunity to see how far her loyalty to the cause would go. He is, after all, a Decepticon.
