1. Chapter 1

His True Sincerity

So I'm not really sure when this is set but it's after Season 4. Robin and Barney are a secret. I've only started watching How I Met Your Mother in the last couple of months. I've watched all the episodes with big Robin and Barney moments. I think I have all the details right for everyone else. I don't know many of the major moments for Ted. I've seen none of Season 1 or 2 unless it's been in flashbacks in later seasons. But I am going to watch it. I've seen Sandcastles in the Sand from Season 3.

Also my beta is snowed under with college work and I suck at editing so apologies for any errors.

Chapter 1

"You look so beautiful," smiled Barney.

"How come we never see this side of you?" asked Robin.

Barney shrugged. "I don't know. I like to seem cool, confident and independent and that is me but sometimes there's this sincere side that I only let a couple of people see.

"Like me?" asked Robin.

"Yeah," smiled Barney.

"Lily and Marshall. You flew to San Francisco to get her back, paid for her plane ticket home and slept with the girls Marshall was interested in because you didn't want him to feel guilty when you knew he would get back with Lily," smiled Robin. "You're a pretty awesome guy Stinson."

"Thanks Scherbatsky," smiled Barney.

"Well we'd better get some sleep. I have to be up in a couple of hours for my awesome job," smiled Robin.

"Night Scherbatsky," smiled Barney.

"Night Stinson," smiled Robin.

Minutes later she felt arms wrapped around her waist.

"Barney Stinson! Are you cuddling?" asked Robin.

"Shut up Scherbatsky," smiled Barney.

"Morning," smiled Barney.

"Morning," smiled Robin.

"So I broke a very important rule," said Barney.

"Breakfast in the apartment?" asked Robin.

"Nope," smiled Barney.

"Breakfast in bed," smiled Robin.

"A very sacred rule of keeping a girl from becoming your girlfriend. Do not eat together about midnight aka breakfast. Do not let her shower in your house and do not spend the day together," explained Barney. "Unless you're hooking up with her."
"Barney we've broken all of those rules," said Robin, as she bit into some bacon.

"Then what is this?" asked Barney.

"I guess we're in a relationship," shrugged Robin.

"I'm ok with that," smiled Barney.

"Me too," smiled Robin.

"Do we need to have the talk?" asked Barney.

"I think we just did," smiled Robin, leaning in.
