The challenge this week is to write something with a Shakespearean element to it. So here is a Winchester take on the 1957 movie Kiss Me Kate which is a re-work of The Taming of The Shrew. To see the song that's playing in the bunker just go on YouTube and search Brush Up Your Shakespeare. Kiss Me Kate 1957.
Oh and 300 words as Dean just wouldn't be still!
"Brush up your Shakespeare...Start quoting him now..."
The sound of singing accompanied by the fleet tap of footfalls and high pitched laughter drifted up the corridor from the TV room as Sam yawned and padded sleepily across the cool marble from his bedroom in the bunker.
He pushed the door open and briefly noted the old movie playing on Dean's newly installed plasma screen but most of his attention was immediately focused on the bemusing occupants of the room.
Charlie lounged on the sofa, a pair of brown high-waisted 1930's pants cinched in over a similarly too-large, crisp white dress-shirt, with Dean's belt. Her red tresses were pulled up under the dark Fedora as she laughed indulgently at Dean.
The elder Winchester for his part was clad in a sharp dark blue, chalk-stripe three piece. The double-breasted vest was buttoned tight over a formal black shirt, his white tie slightly askew as his Fedora dipped low over his sparkling green eyes.
He was standing beside the wide screen gracefully mimicking the soft shoe shuffle of the two "Kiss Me Kate" gangsters and Sam was amazed to see how turpsichorially adept his sibling was.
"Hey Sam."
Charlie giggled as the song drew to it's end and Dean swept his hat off as he bowed to his audience.
"I see you've been in the dead-guy wardrobe again?"
Sam mumbled as he waved his hand at their matched sartorial elegance.
"It's movie night, Sammy. We were just getting into the mood. Don't be a party-pooper!"
Dean plumped down, slightly winded, on the couch next to Charlie.
"And I'm sure there's probably a dress in gigantor size back there somewhere if you want us to 'Tame Your Shrew'!"
What can I say? I do love a good musical! Oh and Dean in a Fedora. :0)
