AN: Hey, I know this is short, but it's just the first chapter. It's kind of more like an introduction. Anyway, this story is about how I think Avatar really should have went, instead of the destruction. Comments are love!

Josh knew from his studying at college that Pandora would be beautiful, but he never realized exactly how beautiful it would be. He swept the blonde bangs out of his blue eyes as he looked through the window of his craft down at the glorious land. There were more trees than even the most tree-dense forest on earth, and the trees were big too. For a moment Josh thought about how much he wanted to climb one of those trees, but then he remembered that they were the home source for the Na'avi people.

"Here goes nothing" he said, and stepped out using his Avatar body. Immediately he felt warm and tingly everywhere, like the feeling of just having had hot soup. The air smelled good, not at all like gross Earth air. Josh kind of never wanted to leave this place. But then he remembered his job, he had to find the Na'avi people and communicate with them, to learn about their life. Good thing he was perfectly fluent in Na'avi.

Josh's avatar was tall and lean, with defined abs and muscular legs, not unlike his human form, but his avatar skin was also blue. His hair was long and blonde, and his eyes still the same shade of piercing blue as they were in real life. Confident, he took his first steps into the forest.
