Shimmering
A/N: This is a songfic. The song is not of my creation. I took it from another anime. I hope they don't mind…lol…Enjoy!
Inuyasha was almost asleep when he heard a soft whisper. Sitting up and straning his neck to see where it came from, he notice kagomes sleeping bag is empty. Inuyasha went flying out of the tree. What if something happened? What of It was my fault! He thought while running as fast as he could. Soon after another whisper was heard but this time its flowing together like its not speaking but singing. Looking through the bushes he saw kagome laying in the grass looking at the stars.
"Kagome" Inuyasha ask, "Was that you singing?" he joins her then looks up at the night sky. For some reason the sky had a glow to it as if someone flipped on a switch with a dim light. It also brought a warm feeling to him and instantly calmed him.
"Yea that was me…Was I bad?" She said with a odd face that he didn't understand.
"I wasn't really paying attention to how you were singing or what you were singing," he admitted.
"Would you sing it again?" He asked looking down at her. She glanced up at him then back at the stars. She took a deep breath then started.
"Shimmering so bright
Guiding light divine
Flow along the sea
Of fading stardust
Reminisce the touch
Over the hands
We still clutch
We belong lot in the past
Left to
Emaciate
We pray among the clouds
In the pitch blackness of night
Our voices ascend to
The stars

Listening to her sing was like listening to a bird on a bright early morning. It calmed you. Her voice was beautiful. Soft and pretty.
"What's it about?" Inuyasha asked out of curiosity. It looked as if she wasn't even thinking just staring into space. Then she finally answered him.
"It's about mikos," Inuyasha thought on that for a moment. She's right, everything in that song matches to what a miko is does and everything.
"I get it now." They sat in silence for a while until it became irritating. Inuyasha broke the silence.
"You sing good Kagome…it was really pretty." He said with a blush on his face. He felt Kagomes hand on his shoulder and she hugged him from behind. Wrapping her hands around his waist she hugged him for a long time.
"Thank you Inuyahsa."
