There once was a time, many years ago, when all of the Wizarding World was ruled by one family. The oldest names of the family on record were those of three English brothers and, as time went on, the family grew and grew, and their empire expanded by the day.
The eldest of the three, Anthony, was the first to marry. A woman, half from his home country, half from the country of Spain, named Persephone, became his wife and together they brought forth twin sons, named Kasper and Florian.
The youngest, Jonathan, married an Indian woman by the name of Mara. She provided him with a daughter – a curious young girl named Rani.
Finley, the other brother struggled to find a wife, due to his cunning and great ambition. He was a good man underneath, however, and he did eventually find a woman that could bear him, an Italian named Natalina. Their relationship was cold at times, but when Natalina tragically passed away from Dragon Pox, Finley was heartbroken. He turned to his son, Giotto, to help alleviate his grief. The boy was, although well-loved, just like his father; stubborn and foreboding.
When the four cousins were infants, they would often play together in the gardens of the family estate, but Giotto tended to sit in a corner conjuring up schemes in his mind for how he could avoid the next 'family outing'. He never actually carried out these plans, he knew it was almost impossible to get anything past parents who had Veritaserum.
All the family were wizards, so it was no surprise when the Hogwarts letters arrived and every single one of the children replied within 30 minutes of receiving them. Even Giotto was excited for the first day of term and although it was not in his nature to look forward to anything; he was more of the reflective type.
