Dreamer.
You want to do the right thing,
make the world a better place.
You were born a wise fool
Living in your pessimistic optimism.
So for your dreams, with shoulders squared,
you walked forward.
But did the journey turn the light within your eyes
to a filmy veil of darkness.
You set off on a long road;
you thought it would lead to heaven.
But you're still walking.
Stumbling forward.
Twist, turn.
Road to nowhere.
You set off in freshest blue,
and came back with eyes almost incapable of crying,
and a heart that was hidden in a cold steel gaze.
Keep walking.
Don't look down.
Ignore the mud that stains your boots,
or the river of blood will pull you under.
Snap your fingers,
And watch as the world burns away.
Don't touch the fire;
the cold flames will burn you.
Freeze you.
And leave you crippled,
from your invisible scars.
Stand in your own storm cloud,
'til you are drenched in your own rain.
And yet here you are,
still walking forward.
Your dreams are tattered,
scattered,
yet you are still a dreamer.
