Song: Once upon a December by Aaliyah

Disclaimer: I don't own this JK Rowling owns it, I only own the plot.

Author's Note: This is the original of "Show me the meaning of being lonely" only with a different song, this one seemed to be more fitting.

With a blank memory and cold legs, which he doesn't feel anymore, he sits in his wheelchair, in front of French windows, watching the snow slowly fall.

Dancing bears
Painted wings
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December

Fallen apart has his life with no little answer to anything. A silent tear rolls down his cheek and he knows that he will never be the same man he was supposed to have been before.

Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory

A hand appears on his shoulder and he looks up in the loving brown eyes of Sirius Black.

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my heart used to know
Once upon a December

One memory, one little special memory, still in his mind and he holds it like a precious gift not wanting to let go of it. The memory, the memory of him and Sirius being lovers, mates and even having a small family.

Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory

He smiled sadly up to the man and then looks back outside searching for answers somewhere deep in his mind. But he doesn't find them and the one tear is not alone anymore as now several tears find there way down his cheek.

Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
Things my heart
Used to know
Things it yearns to remember

Sirius stands now before him, taking him into his arms comforting him. "You'll remember I promise you will." Sirius whispers, kissing him on the forehead and wiping the last tears away.

And a song
Someone sings
Once upon a December

But he knows he won't and shakes his head. He only knows that he loves this man, but there is no rest. Here is the end.
