Summery: A house fire breaks out in a home that is being renovated two 18 years old boys are killed. When what appears to be an accident turns out to be a double murder how far will Horatio go to solve this gut retching case.
June 20th was one of the hottest days Miami ever felt. Sweat caked everyone in Miami as they worked through the hot day. For many the day was spent on the beach sitting on the blistering sand then heading out in the cool ocean for a dip. However for eighteen year old best friends Tom Gallus and Logan Lewko the day was spent in small room painting the walls blue. Sweat drenched the both of them as the day got hotter.
"I thought you said this wouldn't take very long." Logan complained as he wiped the ocean of sweat off his forehead for the millionth time that morning.
Earlier that morning Tom had convinced Logan that they would just paint the room they were working on and they would be done for the day. Tom had assured Logan that the project would not take long, however the clock was saying that it was almost noon and they weren't even half done with the first coat.
"I thought it wouldn't take this long." Tom said peeling his blond wispy hair off his forehead.
As they continue working a burning smell hits Logan's nose. The room started to heat up like an oven.
"Dude something's burning." Logan said to Tom as he walked to the door.
Tom watched as Logan yanked on the handle of the double door. A wall of fire comes barreling into the room consuming Logan. Smoke and Flame blind Tom as he sees his best friend disappear into the flames. Unable to breathe Tom desperately calls for Logan.
"LOGAN! LOGAN!" Tom calls trying to find him. Tom's lungs get heavier by the second as he desperately searches for his friend.
Tom spies Logan laying limp on the floor. The world started to spin and fade away as he fought away being unconscious. Picking up Logan Tom leaves the room desperately trying to get out. It was harder and harder to breath. The door seemed farther away. The world fades to black as a voice said
"I found them"
