My story begins at the end of Eragon's. My parents and their parents before them where but lowly merchants traveling and selling just enough to have a meal. Sometime they didn't get even that with the soldiers "protecting" the roads taking whatever they wanted. There was seemingly no hope that the world would ever get better. Then one day my grandparents heard about a blue dragon and her rider, her free rider. Now people had hope and with it an idea for a free world. After Galbatorix died, Nasuada became Queen and Eragon and Saphira went north, south, east, and west to find a new home for dragons and their riders. With a new and fair monarch, my grandparents finally realized their feelings and had my mom. I could go through my mom's childhood but it was pretty normal without wars or demented overlords, but there was still evil, strife, and greed in the world. Sadly, my childhood was tainted by these evils. Bandits raided the caravan my mother was in and took her and without knowing it, me as my mother was recently married to my father. Once my mother started showing we were sold to slavers and then to Roamers. Luckily I wasn't lost in my mother's trouble as a slave to the Roamers. My mother was owned by Tarija Swiftfingers. Now Tarija was harsh and cruel to my mother in many ways with one show of kindness. Tarija helped my mother give birth to me. I'm pretty sure Tarija was looking for her own profit through me but anyway I was born. I don't actually know the date but I remember about a year later the Roamers had a huge festival with lots of food. I'm sure I only remember it as the one time I was ever not hungry. It was so hot that day that I decided later of course that mid-summers eve was my birthday. Slave work was slave work no matter how you put it and my mother was worn to the bone fetching water, cutting wood, watching clothes with more water, polishing, cleaning, tending to the animals, receiving beatings, and taking care of me. My mother waited until I could understand her words for an escape plan. That plan came to action when we were at the wall.
