Is this the end?

A boy and girl stood facing their enemy. This was it, one of them was going to die. But which one?

"Winry stand over there!" A boy with long golden blonde hair pulled back into a loose braid, pointed to a corner.

" But I can help you!"A girl with long light blonde hair pulled into a ponytail high upon her head protested.

"Go! This is between me and Envy." The anger in his voice was duely noted. She did as she was told, and headed for the corner. Now a safe distance from them she frowned. She felt worthless.

"So like you Winry, always listening to everyone else. Tisk Tisk." A boy, with a girlish voice shook his finger.

"Shut up Envy!" The boy yelled. He bolted toward Envy, ready to attack. Envy moved out of the way, causing him to go face first into the wall. Envy laughed loudly.

"Are you okay?" Envy frowned slightly before laughing again.

"Stop toying with me!" An expression of anger spread across his face, "This ends now!" He jumped up for an airial attack. Envy was ready for him, and quickly punched him in the stomach. The boy lost his breath. Envy's hand quickly changed into a sharp object, which pierced through the boy's stomach with ease. Envy removed his arm, as the boy fell with a sickening thud to the ground. The boy let out a scream of pain and shear terror. Winry froze in shock, unable to move.

The blood poured freely from the hole in the boy's stomach.

"EDWARD!!!" Winry ran to him. Ed could sense the terror in her voice, and felt a pang of guilt. Guilt for leaving her, and for not telling her how he felt. He tried hard to tell her, but coughed violently. Blood poured from his mouth in puddles. He tried feverently to draw another breath. He had to, for Winry. He drew in a ragged breath at last, but it was of no use to him. His heart ceased to pumped the blood his body so desperatly needed. His golden eyes quickly faded to bronze as he fell into the pit of death.

"Ed?" She looked at him, searching for something to prove that he wasn't really dead. She fell to her knees. Tears formed at the rims of her vibrant blue eyes. She held his limp body in her arms, allowing the tears to fall. Envy stood to the side laughing maniacly. Winry turned her attention to the Homunculous. She reached into her back pocket, pulling from it her wrench. She knew she had no chance of winhning, but something made her want to try. Envy stared at her for a moment.

" Do you really think you can win?"

" I don't care, this is for Ed." She took a deep breath before she charged forward. Envy lunged at her, slamming his fist into her face. She fell to the ground, and cried out in pain. She had to do this. For Ed. She slowly rose to her feet. She was ready.

" You want more?" She headed for him again. He threw her up against the wall, and turned his hand into a sharp object once more. Her eyes grew wide. Envy then shoved it through her heart. Her body went limp instantly. He pulled his hand out, and stepped back. Her body fell to the ground, as the blood poured from the hole in her heart. He looked at the two unmoving forms on the floor at his feet. Two lovers lying side by side, in a pool of their own blood.

Edward stood still, taking in his surroundings. Everything around him was white, the clouds, the light that was emitting from the sky, even the clothes he was now wearing. He sighed, he had never thought he would end up here. He tried to think of something other than the thought of never seeing Winry or Alphonse again, but it was a hard task. He looked up to the sky, though it wasn't much of one. It was simply a plain white background, one he would be staring at for all enternity. He closed his eyes.

"Winry...." He whispered, his voice heavy with emotion.

" Edward...." He froze. He knew that voice all too well.
