"Papa."

Her words whispered, Dylan gently stroking her glossy hair with rough calices.

"We have only a few seconds to escape. what do I do?" A flash of sorrow passed his worn face suddenly, although he was quick to respond. "Go. with the data, then make the perfect portal then, come back and get us" Worried and confused, Regina gazed back subdued. Never had such responsibility been placed upon one so kind-hearted, but she was never one to question orders. "I." She stuttered, "I will. I won't let you down" Taking one last glance at the mess of silicon and sparks of flame, Regina closed her eyes tightly, and took one last breath. Then, with one gather of adrenalin, rushed into the hovering vortex beside her.

"Papa!"

The words cried, Dylan squeezing her hair gently - hopeless to defend his daughter. A second mainboard tumbled down from the wall, exploding into an escapade of flame and litter of embers. Shielding the face of his daughter, a sudden whiteness appeared. a void. An explosion to become of all, the facility combusted that final time; mercury pouring from the walls and molten metal became the final known remnants of the soldier with a tragic fate - Dylan Galliger.
