Aaron walked over to the car where Robert had parked, his mom still on his mind as he put his bag into the boot. He went to go sit in the front but when he opened the passenger side, Liv was sitting there.

"Erm. I don't think so! In the back you!"

"But I called shotgun!" She retorted.

"Well, I wasn't here, it doesn't count."

She stuck her tongue out at him, but proceeded to get out the front seat and move into the back. "Fine" she said. "But I'm putting my headphones on so I don't have to listen to you two being all coupley."

Aaron just shrugged his shoulders and sat in the front seat.

Robert looked at him smiling. "You're almost as bad as each other!"

Aaron just gave him a look and put his seatbelt on. With his mom still on his mind he gave a little sigh. Robert hadn't started the car yet and put his hand on Aaron's thigh.

"Hey, what's up?" He looked concerned and Aaron smiled briefly.

"It's just summat my mom said before I left."

Robert looked him in the eyes, trying to make sure everything was okay. "You sure you want to do this? We can go back if you like?"

Robert was always trying to protect him and would clearly do anything for him. He smiled a proper smile. "Nah, we deserve a break. She was probably just hungover anyway."

"Yeah, you're probably right." Robert reassured him.

"Well, I'll call her when we get there anyway. Just to let her know we're okay. I'm sure she'll be okay without me for a week."

"Yeah. But if anything happens down here and she needs you, I'll drive us right back, okay?"

"You'd do that?" Aaron said in a small voice.

Robert used the hand on Aaron's leg to stroke him. "Of course I would."

Liv took that moment to take out her headphones. "We leaving any time soon or what then?!" She complained.

Robert again looked at Aaron. "You ready?"

"Yeah, I'm ready."

Robert squeezed his leg, turned the key in the ignition and off they went on their road trip to Wales.
