It started with a song. It always did. It wouldn't be an episode with the opening song.
104 days of summer vacation
And school comes along just to end it!
So the annual problem for our generation,
Is finding a good way to spend it.
Like maybe,
Building a rocket
Or finding a mummy,
And so on. During a marathon, most people skipped it to see the brothers and the amazing things they invented every day. Or to watch a secret agent platypus fight an evil doctor that looked like a pharmacist. But still, they watched. They saw the characters loves grow, their rivalry turn into a frenemy, or a sister learns to deal with her brothers. They saw characters grow up. As the years went by, the children who watched grew up as well. But, still, on an evening when they had a bad day, or even a totally awesome day, they'd take out their tablets, or turn on their TVs and watch an episode. They'd smile while a building montage was going on, they'd laugh at another failed attempt to bust Phineas and Ferb, or they'd egg on Perry, even though they knew he'd win eventually. They loved the show. But, as everyone well knows, a good show must always end. The last day of summer had arrived. Everyone young and old gathered up to watch the end of a show they had watched since they were Phineas' age. Everyone had tears in their eyes. After they watched the last song, they walked off into their rooms, and pulled up their Phineas and Ferb playlist of all their songs, in episode order that they spent hours on. Then they let their tears finally fall. Then, they remembered the time they spent together.
Summer is done,
And we've had our fun,
But this isn't the end of our story.
So for nostalgia's sake,
Let's just take a break.
Sit back and take inventory.
We've done so many wondrous things
And there's still so much to do,
But I make the most of every day
Whenever I'm with you.
Because...
It's not about the summer sun
Or even all the things we've done.
It's not about the change in the weather.
It's just about the time we spend
With our family and with our friends.
