Gary sighed and he scribbled down some lyrics on a sheet of paper. He was trying to write out his feelings for Leaf in the form of a song.
Leaf was a generally cold person who would constantly slap him for harassing her. But Gary knew that underneath that cold shell was something much more.
Once he had the lyrics figured out, he grabbed his violin and biked over to Leaf's house. He wanted her to hear this song, even if she rejected his feelings.
Gary saw that the light was on in Leaf's bedroom, so he grabbed his violin and music, then began the show.
A winter night so cold blows over you. The first frost freezes you over little Leaf. You're cold on the outside, but there's more within. Why don't you break away from the icicles. And if you can't let me help you. I'll come in and warm you. Adore you. Even if you give me frost bite, I will not succumb so easily.
(Chorus)
Let me thaw out your heart. I don't mind the winter's cruel blizzard. Let me see the real you. Even if my heart is frozen over as well. Just let me be near you. Let me keep you alive. Because without me, little leaf you might not survive. Please little leaf...I love you.
(Chorus end)
The winter just gets harsher. Buries you deep under the snow. But I don't mind digging you back out. I can see that your froze. I won't burn you in the fire. I won't let you drift away. I'll keep you as a momento. Of my favorite autumn days.
(back to chorus)
And even if I am frozen in the snow. I'll find a way to save you and let you go. Just don't drift away from me, little leaf. I love you. Don't leave me. Don't leave me.
Leaf, who now stood out on her balcony clapped her hands, wiping away a few tears. "You idiot. Of course I won't leave you."
Gary's eyes lit up. "You like me too?"
Leaf nodded. "I only have two complaints. One is that was a bit cliché."
Gary shrugged. Leaf continued.
"My second complaint is that, while I loved the song, the artist wasn't very good. You're tone-deaf."
Gary hissed. "I try to be romantic and you're just rude to me?!"
Leaf had smug look on her face. "I thought you wouldn't succumb even if I gave you frost bite."
Gary sighed. Now she was using the song against him. It didn't matter though. Gary loved Leaf and was glad she felt the same. And that's all he needed.
Leaf threw a book down out him. "Hey! Are you gonna come up and kiss me or what? Don't you wan to be romantic?"
Gary sighed. That woman sure knew how to ruin the mood. But he wouldn't mind stealing a kiss...or two...
