Of course he'd never be the same. Dipper knew that, everyone knew that. Who could emerge unchanged from an event so scarring? Dipper rubbed his shoulder gently. Scarring was definitely a good word to describe those happenings. Unfortunately, the scars were more than skin deep. Dipper straightened the battered blue-and-white pine tree cap on his head and turned away from the mirror. He had more important things to do than wallow in self-pity. As he pushed the door open, he was welcomed by the bubbly voice of his sister telling an enthusiastic story downstairs. Dipper smiled to himself. Nothing could bring him out of a low time like Mabel's perky attitude. He took a step from the bathroom, but all at once, he found he wasn't there. Dipper was unable to respond for some time as he stood, or better, floated in nothing. A nothing that was all-too familiar.
"Dipper?" There was Mabel's voice again. Dipper glanced below himself to see Mabel looking up at him, her expression demonstrating that she was just as confused as he was.
"This can't be happening," Dipper clapped his hand over his head, but to his surprise, his hat was still there. He snatched it out and examined it. Yes, the ugly patch on the back was still there. Yes, that one little bloodstain that would never come out was there, and yes, that slip with a phone number was still there. Dipper put donned his hat again and looked down at his sister. Mabel was also feeling for her scutum: her sweater, but she was most definitely wearing one.
"How?" Was all she could say, "Why?"
"Because," Dipper and Mabel spun around when they heard and all to familiar and unwelcome voice. The little pyramid man was there, a good distance away, and he spoke. "I brought you here."
"You can't! Mabel pulled the bottom of her sweater towards the creature to demonstrate. "We have our protection, and you can't do anything to us!"
"And I won't" The pyramid said.
"Then how did you bring us here?" Dipper demanded.
"Listen please," the villain pleaded. It was then Dipper noticed something strange about the pest. It wasn't big and demanding, it looked almost humble and defeated. Still, he was careful not to let down his guard.
"I didn't come here to hurt you," it said, holding up it's hands reassuringly.
"Then what do you want?" Mabel snarled.
"I need your help."
Mabel and Dipper looked at each other with matching expressions of confusion and disbelief.
"Lol no," they said simultaneously, and then a unicorn came and whisked them away to the overworld.
"Aw man, foiled again," the pyramid sighed, and he melted like butter.
"Hey, where u kids been," Stan asked. "I was in the black place of nothing."
"haha silly Stan, ur old."
and
they all laughed.
