Written for the Flower Challenge on HPFC. Oh, and I don't own Harry Potter.
Flowers and Hope
Merope and Tom had a small wedding. By "small", I mean that it was just them and the minister. She didn't have any fancy clothes, but Merope did carry a bouquet of cherry blossoms. After all, they stood for bridal hope, and that was all she had left.
Not that she had a lot to start out with.
Tom was all she could have wanted, so sweet, so kind. Or perhaps that was just the potion talking.
After the wedding, Merope charmed the flowers to last forever. Somehow, magic became easier without her father hovering over her. Without her brother sitting around and torturing small animals. Without that stupid snake hissing stories to her brother. Terrible, terrible things that she didn't want to hear.
Merope had always been terrified of that snake. But it was gone now. Father was gone now. Morfin was gone now.
Tom was the only one left. He would always he there for her.
Merope carried the cherry blossoms close to her heart, wishing desperately for a happy future.
Please, please, please, please.
Just let me be happy.
