Set in my B&W Roommates au
Imagine your OTP living in a dorm. Person A thinks that person B is kinda cute, but otherwise doesn't feel much for them. Person A goes to borrow a textbook from person B and walks in on person B in their pajamas with their hair all messed up and person A thinks it's the cutest thing ever
Leena was only supposed to get the book – a physics book at that, not exactly exciting material.
She had not expected the girl who opened the door.
Sure, she had seen the girl in the halls plenty of times. Sure, they had contacted over Facebook about the textbook, so she had seen the girls picture. Sure, she could admit that she had recognized that the girl was kinda cute – she did have eyes after all.
But she had never realized exactly how cute Claudia Donovan was. Not until she was standing in front of her, her hair standing at odd angles, and dressed in Star Wars boxers that barely clung to her hips and a tank top that ended about an inch above the boxers.
"Oh frack," Claudia said through a yawn. "Totally forgot."
"It's okay," Leena told her.
Claudia shook her head. "No, it's not. Lemme grab the book."
She turned back into her room, raising a hand to run through her hair as she went. Leena raised an eyebrow at the binary tattoo that stretched across Claudia's shoulders. Her eyes slipped down to the slight strip of pale skin her tank top failed to cover. On her hip, another tattoo, this one a bunch of gears, was half hidden by her boxers.
Claudia turned around before Leena could look back up. Both of them blushed slightly. Claudia held the book out. Leena took it.
"Thanks," she said. "I'll get it back to you when I'm done."
"Use it as long as you need it," Claudia replied.
Leena nodded and quickly left the room.
She was halfway down the hall when a call stopped her.
"Hey, Leena!"
She turned around. Claudia, her feet bare, was chasing after her. She skidded to a stop, and took a few moments to catch her breath.
"Umm, I was just, uhh," she stuttered. "I mean, I was wondering if you, umm, possibly, might want to, only if you want to, of course, go on a date… with me. Like I said, only if you want to, no pressure or anything…"
She continued to ramble slightly. Leena's lips twitched upwards.
She had no idea what she would have said an hour ago, but after seeing Claudia just after waking, with no walls up, she wanted to get to know her better.
"I'd like that."
Claudia's words stopped abruptly. The grin that grew on her face was infectious, and Leena's was soon just as large.
"Great. Umm, Friday, 8:30?"
"I can't wait."
Leena could practically see the happy dance Claudia was doing in her mind.
"Sweet. Well, I need to get some lab work done, so I'll, uhhh, see you then."
"You will."
Claudia's smile, somehow, grew even bigger before she turned and made her way back down the hall.
Leena watched her go until Claudia reached her door and turned back around. Leena blushed slightly at being caught looking again, and waved. Claudia waved back and vanished into her room.
Leena turned around and started to walk again.
She was only supposed to pick up the book.
She wasn't supposed to get a date.
She wasn't going to complain.
