If I Could Turn Back Time

A/N: Just a little oneshot. I cried while writing this.

The sun had now fully risen over the battle worn castle. The three best friens stood upon the destroyed bridge, hand in hand, taking in the damage. They had done it. It was all over. Lord Voldemort was gone. They could live their lives out, they could think about their futures. The Golden Trio. For a while now it felt as if it were them against the world.

They stood in silencefor a while, letting the relief wash over them, just enjoying each others company. Finally Hermione sighed.

"So what now?"

"Dunno, I guess we help restore the wizard world", replied Ron.

"Sounds like fun", Harry muttered. They all burst out lauhging. They laughed until it turned into sobs. All of them and there was no need to explain. They knew what was going through each others minds. They had done it. After all they been through they had made it. So the trio just hugged and sobbed. It took thema while to pull themselves together and when they did it was Harry who spoke first.

"God, I really wish I could see my parents now."

"What if you could?" Hermione asked him.

"What do you mean?" Ron asked her curiously.

"Well you know how I said we had destroyed all of they time-turners in the Ministry of Magic last year? Well we did, but not really."

She pulled out, to their utter astonishment, a time-turner from her small beaded bag.

"It was in Dunbledore's office. I got it while we were up there a while ago", hse explained.

" Well what are we waiting for? Let's go" Ron urged. He looked at Harry who nodded.

"Okay." She took the time-turner and put it around their necks. She turned the little knob a few times and before they knew it they were standing in a small village. It was chilly and near night fall. When they turned around they were right in front of the Potter house. They walked up to the gate and a few small children in costume passed behind them.

"When are we?", Harry whispered, as they walked up to the house.

" October 31,1981",Hermione whispered back, looking down at the time-turner. The trio hesitated. They were at the door now.

"Maybe we shouldn't do this", Hermione whispered.

"But we're here", Harry answered.

"Harry you know what today is and you know you can't change it. You cannot meddle with time."

"I won't. I just want to talk to them." And with that he knocked on the door. They waited a while and they all suddenly realized that they were covered from head to toe in blood and filth from the Battle, not at all very presentable ,Harry attempted to straighten his hair.

It was Lily who answered, with a look of slight confusion. Harry had seen photographs of her.

"Hello," she gave a tentative smile.

"H-hi," Harry stutered.

"Lily, who is it?", James Potter called to his wife. He came into the hall then , along with Remus Lupin and Sirius Black. Harry nearly burst into tears right there, and he could tell that Ron and Hermione were feeling the same way. These were the people they cared about. The people that they wouldn't be anywhere without. It was amazing to see them alive and well and happy. While looking at them closely Harry noticed his younger self snuggled up fast asleep in Padfoot's arms.

" Can we help you?" James asked after a pause.

"Well we were just around-", Ron started but couldn't continue.

"We just wanted to say hello and thank you", Harry choked out. He couldn't help himself he reached out and hugged his parents. They seemed confused but willing all the same and embraced him back tightly. Ron and Hermione hagged Sirius and Lupin. Once everyone got a hug Remus finally asked,"So are you lot going to tell us who you are?"

"We are just people who are very honored to have met you." Hermione responded.
