Hinata slowly pushed open the door to her room. She had been helping the Suna medics all day while Gaara was working. She had helped many children today and had picked up on a particular chakra signal that had followed her all day.
"You look puzzled." Hinata's head snapped up, trying to locate her husband's voice. Her eyes landed on the Kazekage robes resting on the chair. The matching hat lay resting on the table.
"Gaara? A-Are you there?" She called out quietly. Her husband chuckled and let his sand slowly wrap around her waist, dragging her into the bathroom. When she stepped inside the bathroom Gaara's sand shut the door behind her, revealing him behind the door. Hinata couldn't help herself and hugged him close to her, her chest swelling with love for the stubborn Kazekage. The raven pulled away from Gaara and scrutinised him thoroughly, making sure that he wasn't hurt. His red hair was all scruffy from their embrace and his clothes were not ripped, indicating a relaxing day in the office.
Or as relaxing as you could get, she mused to herself. Gaara seemed to sense her relief and his aquamarine eyes sparkled with barely contained laughter. He stretched out his hand and pushed Hinata's bangs back behind her ears.
"I am fine love. Not everyday is dangerous. I have prepared a bath for you to relax in until dinner," He tugged her towards the bath, smirking at her. "What were you thinking about?"
"Huh?"
"When you came home. What were you thinking about?"
"Not much. I do need to ask you something though."
"Ask away my desert flower."
"Have you given me a bodyguard?"
