Horrified, Lee hugged Gai. Gai returned the hug, crying manly tears. The background changed to a sea cliff at sunset.

"Now. none of that my adorable pupil! It is unyouthful to despair so about this. It is every teachers dream to be surpassed by his students. It is for that reason I have contacted a certain individual concerning this most perilous training"

"I will do as my new trainer asks, Gai-sensei"

Back in the Hokage tower Sakura was preparing for her day of training under Tsunade. It had been a few months since the pink-haired kunoichi became the Hokage's apprentice, a position she often found herself not believing she got. She entered Tsunade's office and waited for further instruction.

"Ah, Sakura. You're here right on time. Glad to see that particular trait never rubbed off from your previous sensei. Today will be a little different from our usual routine-"

Just then the green clad, large eyebrowed genin known as Rock Lee entered.

"Hokage-sama! I am here to receive your most excellent teachings! I will take what you teach me and prove my nindo; that even genius can be beaten with hard work!"

"Lee-san?!"

"Lee is your new fellow apprentice, although it isn't about med jutsu"

Shizune sweatdropped as she lowered a banner behind the Hokage. It read:

Best drinker in all of Hi no Kuni

Reign: 30 years straight until retired, undefeated

Sakura twitched with a shocked look on her face. Lee gulped.

'30 years, undefeated! Such a truly powerful individual'

"That's right! Lee is my new drinking apprentice! When I'm done with him he'll be able to drink like a fish!"

"Yosh! I will do my absolute best to flourish under you masterful training Hokage-sama! If I am unable to do that then I shall run 500 laps around Konoha on my hands!"

Sakura still looked like she was having a small seizure and Shizune cursed the day that she and Tsunade had come across that infernal competition.
