· Luke destroys death star.
Ben: Remember Luke, The Force will be with you. Always.
Luke: Ben…
Ben: Yes, Luke.
Luke: I can talk to you?
Ben: The Force works in mysterious ways, Luke. My spirit can give you further guidance on your journey.
*Luke pauses*
Luke: Is my father there?
Ben: What?
Luke: You told me he died. He was a jedi too. Right? I would really like to hear his voice. I'm ready, Ben.
Ben: … Uh. He's. Busy.
Luke: Busy with what?
Ben: uh, well you see… the force is everywhere y'know. Binding the universe together and all that. Uh, he could be anywhere you see.
Luke: I just destroyed the fricken Death Star! I saved countless lives and bitch-slapped the galactic empire! He should be proud of me! So quit hogging the spot-light and put him on.
Ben: *long awkward pause* …ah yes. He is here after all. Silly me. Oh he looks—so proud… Yeah.
Luke: dad? Is it really you?
Ben: *clears throat, deepens voice* yes… my son.
Luke: Dad. I used the force. I always knew I'd be like you someday.
Ben: *mutters under his breath* I sure hope not
Luke: huh?
Ben: *clears throat again* Ah, yes… oh I can feel the good side of the force much stronger now. Ah it does me so good to see that my own son… is uh… y'know boy. You shouldn't follow in my footsteps too closely now.
Luke: what do you mean? Ben said you were a good friend, the best star-pilot and a cunning warrior. You're just awesome. The empire wouldn't stand a chance if you were alive today.
Ben: Oh… don't say that son. I died… really… really badly fighting the empire. You should learn from a jedi who stayed alive to watch over you…
Luke: Ben…
Ben: yes! He is a much wiser-
Luke: No, BEN. I know it's you, and you can just stop.
Ben: … okay, you got me.
Luke: What the heck is your deal here?
Ben: Well, it's just the subject of your father is a bit of a sensitive subject. But maybe if you train with the force… a bit longer. Like five, maybe ten years…
Luke: Ten years!? How "sensitive" can my fathers ghost really be? *pauses* Ben… he IS dead. Right?
Ben: *Long pause, deep inhale* Um…
Luke: you lied to me!?
Ben: Well, you see… from one point of view, uh. The man who killed the good father… no, wait. *mutters* damn, really needed to rehearse this part more.
Luke: So what? Is he in a coma somewhere? Is he being kept alive or tortured? 'Cuz we can help him. You tell me where he is, and I'll go rescue him. The rebels will back me up, they probably owe me big time for 69-ing the death star.
Ben: 86
Luke: Huh?
Ben: you 86-ed the Death star, what you said was you… just, nevermind. Your father can't be helped, see. He's… partly joined the force. Yeah. So we would only need to help… fffinish him off.
Luke: kill him?
Ben: See, this is why you really should just train for a few years. It sounds bad now but if you give it time it's really for the best.
Luke: you want me wait a few years, then mercy-kill my father? Wouldn't it be more merciful to end his suffering sooner?
Ben: I really need time to explain this. We're not exactly on the same wavelength here-
Luke: Now that I think about it, how DID you get his lightsabre?
Ben: Let's dial this back a bit here-
Luke: You also seemed really calm and experienced in the cantina full of murderers and thieves.
Ben: -hey now. That's-
Luke: Which side in the clone wars were you on anyways?
Ben: … well I-
Luke: Did you try to kill my father?
Ben: *pause*
Luke: Ben.
Ben: I… May have…
Luke: What's wrong with you old man? What? Was he falling out of line a little bit, so you decided to 69 him and leave him for dead?
Ben: Just stop! rrright there. *ugh* Mental image… Y'know what… fine. You're right, he should just be put out of his misery. He's being kept alive on Hoth.
Luke: Hoth?
