Shortly after the Battle had finished, Luna sat with Neville on the stairs. They looked at everything but each other for a while, until Luna finally took hold of Neville's hand. They gazed in to each other's eyes for a while, smiling ever so slightly at each other. Despite being covered in blood and dirt, Luna still looked as gazy and dreamy as ever. Just as she turned her head to look around again, she noticed Harry, Ron and Hermione walking back in to the Entrance Hall.
She immediately let go of Neville's hand, sprung down the stairs and jumped at Harry, hugging him tighter than she had ever hugged anyone in her life. Everyone look startled, and Neville felt his heart sinking. Harry, who had just managed to keep his balance, hugged Luna back and she gripped him tighter. At this point, Ginny had walked in to the Entrance Hall and saw them both hugging each other. Like Neville, she felt her heart sinking too. Luna loosened her grip on Harry and kissed him on the cheek.
At this point, everyone in the Entrance Hall was just staring at Harry and Luna, wondering what on Earth was happening. Neville and Ginny were almost in tears, wanting to leave but too curious as to what was going to happen. Ron and Hermione stared at them too, just as confused as everyone else. Nobody expected this. Herimone looked over at Ginny, and could tell by the way Ginny was breathing so heavily that she was about to break down in tears. The Entrance Hall was deadly silent. Apart from the obvious destruction of the place, nobody would have guessed a battle had just taken place here.
Luna and Harry broke loose, and just stared at each other. Harry finally managed to open his mouth. 'Luna...what was that about?' he asked. Ginny looked at him, and then Luna. 'Hm?' Luna replied. 'That...the hugging, and the kiss on the cheek,' he said, feeling just as confused as everyone else. Luna smiled at him and then said, 'I was just happy to see you alive. You're my best friend Harry, and apart from my father, I care about you more than anything. You helped me make friends and helped me through the past few years. You helped me escape from Malfoy Manor. I couldn't bare the thought of losing my first real friend.'
By now, Ginny had burst in to tears. Not because she thought Harry and Luna were together, but because she realised how much Harry meant to some people, how special he was. Hermione had shed a few tears too. Harry smiled at Luna and hugged her again, to which everyone in the Entrance Hall gathered around them and started hugging each other. This triggered a huge cheer of joy from everyone, which then turned in to a cheer in honour of those who lost lives as everyone moved in to the Great Hall.
Luna grabbed hold of Neville's hands and kissed him softly on the lips. Then they confessed their feelings for each other. Luna cleaned up Neville's bloody face and kissed him rather passionately on the lips. Neville wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly, she hugged him back and then rested her head against his chest. She felt very much at home when she heard and felt his heart pounding. Ginny and Harry sat with the rest of the Weasley's and Hermione, cuddled up to one another and not saying a word. After a while, Harry, Ron and Hermione went outside for a chat, where he told them all about the Elder Wand and why it wouldn't work for Voldemort.
