The Tales of Team SABR

Shane: Chapter 1: Welcome to Beacon

"Hey!" Shane yelled as he dashed through the busy streets of Vale "Wait up! Just stop the airship! Please!"

He tried his best but for some reason, it was impossible for Shane to be on time. Today was much better than usual though. He was only 45 minutes late, but when it all boiled down, the airship had already taken off and he was still here on the ground, chasing it before it could get too far into the air. So, there he was, running along the sidewalk as fast as he could through Vale, apologizing to any and everybody he accidentally tackled.

Shane was fast, but screaming and yelling while running at the giant flying fortress clearly wasn't getting him anywhere. He needed an idea, and he needed one yesterday.

Then, as he sprinted, he saw a large 18 wheeler driving by in his direction. He wanted to avoid making a such a scene, but it wasn't really like he had a choice. It was either cause one and have five or six people talking about him, or miss the mandatory airship he needed to catch and get expelled from Beacon before he even started. Quickly and with one big leap, Shane jumped into the air and landed on the truck, running along it as it drove through the streets. After that, he continued to jump onto a large, nearby building, and then he jumped onto a higher one and so on until he was finally on top of a large sky scrapper and at the same level as the airship.

"Hey guys!" He yelled as he waved his arms in the air hoping to get someone's attention "Open a window or something!"

Still, no one heard him. They were all too busy walking around conversing with one another. Shane couldn't really blame them though. They were excited about going to Beacon, the most prestigious academy in all of Remnant. Who wouldn't be psyched to see and meet all those new people? To Shane's fortune however, there was one girl standing alone who unlike the others, was leaning on the window.

"Hey!" Shane cried out to the girl "Over here!"

Up ahead, Shane could see his time was running out. He was quickly running out of building to run on, and the only thing after this skyscraper was the pavement miles downward.

As fast as he could, Shane slipped off his shoe, aimed carefully, and chucked it. Then, he watching as one of his favorite boots flew through the air and hit the window the girl was leaning on. Horrified, the girl jumped in shock and looked around searching for what attacked her, and luckily for Shane, she looked out the window and saw him sprinting on the roof tops. Utterly confused, she opened up the large window.

"Step back!" Shane screamed at the top of his lungs

"What?" She asked

They were moving at such ridiculous speeds, Shane wasn't really surprised that the girl couldn't hear him, but as he was about to answer back, he noticed his room to run was running low. So instead of a warning, Shane got as close as he could to the ledge, and jumped.

Unfortunately, the girl obviously wasn't very quick on her feet, because as soon as he entered the ship, he crashed into her, whom was standing right in the way. Now on the ground, Shane groaned in pain from the agonizing feeling of crashing into the girl and the stone cold floor.

Finally, he tried to push himself up, but instead of feeling the tough, solid ground that the rest of his body felt, he felt something much softer. It was difficult to describe since it was his first time feeling it, but if Shane had to, he'd say it was like a water balloon, but it felt much more firm than that.

"What the hell?" He said to himself as the continued to feel the soft object, trying to decipher out what it was.

"Um...e-excuse me?" The girl asked "W-will you please let g-go of me?"

Finally, Shane sat up, only to see the girl whom had opened the window for him lying flat on her back with a face as red as a tomato.

"Why's you're face all red?" Shane asked confused "You got a fever or something?"

Still confused, Shane looked farther down, seeing his right hand, squeezing her large chest.

"I am so sorry!" Shane yelled as he jumped back, finally letting go of her. Once he did though, he strangest thing started to happen.

As soon as he released the girl, not only did her face become even redder (if that was even possible) but it actually looked like it started to disappear. Shane thought he was just going insane though or maybe that he had hit his head harder than expected from the landing, but sure enough, she was disappearing from the head down before his very eyes, and in a matter of seconds, she was completely transparent.

"Uh...hello?" Shane asked freaking out, but no one responded, leaving him dumbfounded, and on his rear. He had heard of some pretty wild semblances like polarity and super speed, but that one had completely caught him off guard.

Shane didn't see her for very long, but it was long enough for him to get a good look. Like him, she was African American. She had short, black hair that was fashioned into side bangs and dangled over her face almost completely covering her left eye with a red head band covering most of her forehead. She wore a white shirt under an unzipped red jacket and a matching red skirt. She had a red strap running across her body that most likely held the weapon on her back, but Shane didn't catch exactly what kind of weapon she used.

"I take it you were you the guy who just jumped in from outside?" A boy asked as he lent Shane a hand up.

"Yeah were you? Cause if you were that was sooooo cool!" A girl beside the boy said as she bounced around in excitement.

Shane hated to talk about the wild things he could do, but it wasn't like he had much of a choice since it was clearly impossible to deny it. When you jump into a giant airship from a skyscraper, people tend to ask questions. Lots of questions. Plus, the people in front of him seemed like that wouldn't care too much. Hopefully, they wouldn't be the ones that would spread the word about him too much.

The three in front of him were Caucasian; two girls and a boy. The boy had on a dark blue armor chest plate and shoulder pads over a blue, long sleeve shirt and wore blue jeans. Strapped on his back was a large battle axe that looked strong enough to chop down a tree in one swing. He had blue eyes and a neat buzz cut as if he had just walked out from the barber shop and even though he wasn't very tall or too bulky, the confidence he gave off made him seem as intimidating as a giant.

To the right of him was the girl who had asked him the question and unlike the boy, seemed extremely hyperactive. She had light brown eyes that seemed to dance around as if she were trying to look everywhere at once and wore an amber colored tank top under a light brown, half zipped, short sleeve jacket with an amber colored scarf coiled around her neck and jeans. Her long, amber colored hair was about as wild as her personality and she wore a giant smile on her face that went from ear to ear.

Finally, the third girl was much calmer than the other. She had a kind smile, curly brown hair and sparkling green eyes that matched her simple green dress and matching green leather sword sheath that carried her small sword on her waist.

It was hard to believe that Shane was worried his clothing would stand out here, but no one really looked like fighters. He just wore a simple and sleeve less thin, silver bubble vest over a gray shirt, a silver gauntlet on his right hand with a golden circle on the back of his fist as a weapon and black sweat pants (and now just one shoe), so Shane was really happy he wasn't under dressed. In fact, he fit right in.

"Um, yeah that was me." Shane answered as he grabbed the boys hand and pulled himself up.

"And do you mind explaining just how you ran fast enough to catch up to a speeding vehicle?" The boy asked "Or at least how you got on a skyscraper to begin with?"

"Well, you know, I was pissed I didn't make it to the airship on time so I went to my usual skyscraper to mope and pout." Shane lied laughing "It was just dumb luck that you guys flew past me and even luckier that I was able to catch a ride."

Shane couldn't lie to save his own mother's life, but luckily the girls either fell for it or just didn't care. The boy on the other hand didn't believe Shane's ridiculous story at all as he scanned Shane as if he we're an enemy he didn't trust.

"Let it go Brian." The girl in green said "I'm Ashley, and this is my little sister April. It may not look like it but I promise we're sisters."

"That was really cool how you jumped through the window!" April stated "Do it again!"

"Sorry but I don't plan to jump off anymore buildings." Shane apologized "I'm Shane by the way. So, did I miss anything while I was busy running rooftops?"

"Not really. Just an introduction from a lady named Glenda Goodwitch." Brian answered "Maybe if you were here on time you would've heard it."

"Well sorry mom, next time I'll be on time."

"You should take things more seriously. You're not a kid anymore so grow up already."

"Well I was late and you didn't tell me to grow up Bri." April said

"That's because you were busy picking fights with Beowolves again and when you start, nothing can stop you." Brian replied

"It wasn't my fault!" April protested "They started it!"

"You shot the leader of their pack."

"He was looking at me funny! That's just asking for a fight!"

Ashley laughed as Brian and April got into a meaningless fight about Beowolves, starting fights, and for some reason food, but Shane didn't really pay attention. He was busy looking at the amazing view of his new school. It was like a majestic and titanic medieval style building with pointy roofs and a tall tower in the center, but it was a revolutionized medieval style with steel walls and clean roads, which made it look absolutely outstanding.

Just the sight of the building was enough to put a smile on Shane's face. He didn't start the day off well, but this was going to be where his new life began, and where he could bury the sins he committed in the past. This is where his life would change for the better, and where he would finally help the world as a Huntsmen.
