Chapter 1- A New Beginning
The ringing of my alarm clock went off next to my bed. Sleepily I rolled over and hit the snooze button. With a yawn I got up and stretched my arms up to the ceiling. It was seven o'clock in the morning and I was still tired. My name is Miku Zatune one of the kids everyone avoids in fear of being hurt. Today was the first day of my new hell. I was going to be going to the same school as my cousin since I got kicked out of my old school and school started at seven forty-five. My cousin was Miku Hatsune the idol of the school. I guess you're wondering why my cousin and I have the same name, my mom and her dad were in the same hospital when Hatsune and I were born. Without realizing it they had given their kids the same name as the other. Luckily we have different last names so our family just calls us by our last names.
From down stairs I hear my mom walking up the stairs to my room. There was a soft knock on my door then a sweet voice that sounded like an angel.
"Sweetie it's time to get ready for school" My mother said.
I didn't say anything then got up and started to get dressed. After a minute or two my mom opened the door. I was in the middle of pulling up my skirt to put it on. She saw my underwear then made an odd comment.
"Aren't you a little too young for lace" she said then closed the door.
I started to blush then laughed at my moms comment. I hollered at my mom from my room with a smile on my face.
"Then why did you buy them for me" I said then burst into laughter.
My mom and I always joked around like this ever since dad passed away. My father passed away a year ago when I was fourteen. Mom had it rough for awhile and I didn't help with me getting into fights a lot at school until I got expelled from the school.
Once I was done getting dressed I went downstairs to have breakfast with my mom. I was wearing my usual black skirt with red at the bottom and a grey dress shirt that buttoned up and had a tie around the collar and uncovered my shoulders with sleeves that went down to my wrists. My hair was put into twin pony tails that made my hair go to my knees, my hair was shiny black and my eyes were bright red. She usually made breakfast in the morning but this time there was no breakfast waiting for me, instead there was a annoying surprise waiting for me. My cousin was sitting in my spot at the kitchen table waiting with a bowl of cereal in front of her with a spoon in her mouth, she was wearing an outfit that looked a little bit different than mine with her hair like mine but with her hair being a greenish blue and her eyes were the same color. She was a bit of an airhead around me and the family. She looked over at me then smiled. I did my usual thing and scowled at her then sat down in dads old spot. My mom looked over at me then handed me an empty bowl.
"Sorry sweetie I didn't have time today to make breakfast so it's improvise day" My mom said with an apologetic smile on her face.
"No problem mom" I said while grabbing the bowl then getting up.
I went to the pantry and grabbed the first box of cereal I set my eyes on. With the box in my hand I put my bowl on the table then poured some cereal into it. I sat down then my mom brought me a spoon and the milk. After I poured the milk in my bowl I got up and put the cereal and milk away. With a sigh I went back to the table and sat down then proceeded to eat. Hatsune finally took the spoon out of her mouth then started to talk to me.
"Good morning cousin how did you sleep?"
"I slept alright then I woke up and you were here."
Yes I can be a jerk to her but what do you expect when you're always compared to her. I don't hate her, she is kinda my role model but I will never tell her that. My mom looks over at me then sighs.
"Sweetie keep in mind that she begged her school to enroll you" my mom said while smiling at Hatsune.
The room went silent for a few minutes then Hatsune spoke up.
"So you wear lace."
My face lit up bright red then I almost choked on my breakfast. Mother started to laugh hysterically then soon so did Hatsune. After I dropped my scowl I started to laugh too.
As soon as we finished breakfast I grabbed my bag for school and put my red slippers on then hugged my mom. Hatsune but her shoes on that were the same type of shoe but hers were greenish blue.
"I love you mom" I said then kissed her cheek.
She smiled then kissed my cheek.
"I love you too sweetie."
After Hatsune also gave my mom a hug we headed off to school. It was a awkward walk to the school. Hatsune tried to talk to me but I just shrugged her off.
"Miku!"
Both of us turned around to see a girl dressed like a punk rocker with a pink skirt. She had long blonde hair that went to her hips and blue eyes that shimmered like jewels. I didn't recognize her but Hatsune started to waze and smile.
"Hey IA" she yelled then ran up to her and jumped into her arms.
IA held her then Hatsune got up. They looked really close to each other. As they were standing there talking I walked away. Hatsune noticed then IA and her ran after me then caught up. She grabbed my hand then spun me around to look me in the eyes.
"Hey silly you almost left me behind" She giggled.
IA came up to me then laughed.
"So this is your cousin with the same name as you" she said then looked off into the sky.
She looked back down then pointed at me.
"I'll call you Miku Two" she said with a smile.
I gave her a scowl then started to walk towards the school. Once we got there I was awestruck by the look of the school. It was huge and almost glowed in the sun. Even after looking at the building it didn't make me want to go here. Vocal High was a normal high school but it focused more on art and music then sports. I hadn't sang since Hatsune and I was very young so I didn't want to be here since Hatsune was going to drag me to her singing club after school.
"Well I better take this one foot at a time" I sighed out.
Hatsune and I walked to homeroom which was our first class. The teacher was dressed in a plaid shirt with blue jeans and a pair of street shoes on and his long blonde hair was a mess. The bell went off then he smiled at the class. He looked at me who was standing at the front of the class.
"Ok class today we have a new student" he said then looked at me.
"Would you please introduce yourself" he continued after a short pause.
I stood up straight with my bag behind me.
"My name is Miku Zatsune and before you ask why I have the same name as one of your classmates, we're cousins and our parents aren't the smartest with names apparently" I stated with a stern look on my face.
The teacher looked at me then looked at his class.
"Does anyone have any questions for Miss Zatsune" he asked the class.
A boy in the back with blue hair and blue eyes who was dressed in a white shirt with a blue scarf around his neck and blue jeans and boots raised his hand.
"I have a question Mr. Yamada" he yelled out.
"Go ahead Kaito" said Mr. Yamada with a smile.
Everyone looked at him then he stood up.
"Can you sing" He asked.
I paused for a moment then decided to answer.
"I could when I was younger" I answered.
Kaito didn't look satisfied with my answer but sat down anyway. Next the boy next to him raised his hand. He had red hair and eyes and was dressed all in black with red and black headphones around his neck.
"Yes Akaito" Mr. Yamada said dreading his question.
Akaito looked me straight in the eyes.
"What kind of underwear do you wear" He asked then smiled.
My face went tomato red then I started to stutter.
"Umm….. Mr. Yamada do I have to answer that" I asked still blushing.
"No just Ignore him" Mr Yamada answered.
Hatsune shot up from her desk and surprised everyone.
"She wears lace" she yelled then sat down.
My face got even redder than I scowled at Hatsune. The entire class laughed at how red my face was getting then I cursed in my head. I was going to get my cousin back for that later. Mr. Yamada finally let me sit down but sadly put me next to Hatsune who was next to the window. Hatsune gave me a thumbs up then whispered "I got you covered."
After ten minutes of me trying to make my blush go away the bell rang then we all headed to our second periods. I had P.E. with Hatsune and IA and some of Hatsune's groupies but she didn't notice. They started off the class talking to each other then brought me into the conversation. I didn't like the conversation they were having, it was about my introduction. I ignored them until the teacher came in which to my surprise was Mr. Yamada. Then I noticed a man next to Kaito who had long purple hair that went to right below his shoulders and was tied up into a ponytail behind his head with a lock of hair on each side of his head. He was keeping the girls from our class off of him. Mr. Yamada blew a whistle and got everyones attention.
"Ok class today we will be playing dodge ball" Mr Yamada yelled.
Everyone looked excited to play but I thought it was going to be boring. They separated into teams and I ended up on the same team as Hatsune, IA, Akaito, and a bunch of Kaito's fangirls. We stood on both ends of the gym and waited for Mr. Yamada to blow the whistle. He finally blew the whistle then everyone ran to get a ball. I stayed in the back and waited for everyone who didn't get a ball to get pelted. After ten minutes the teams were significantly smaller. We had Akaito, Hatsune, IA, a blonde boy with a yellow shirt, black pants, and black shoes, and me. The other team had Kaito, the boy who was guarding him from his fan girls, and a blonde girl who kinda looked like the boy on our team, she was wearing a yellow shirt and a pair of black short shorts. Everyone had a dodgeball in their hands including me and I was kinda having fun. I tossed the ball and surprisingly hit Kaito in the nose. He dropped his ball then walked over to the bleachers and sat down. I turned around then smiled at my cousin to show that I was having fun. When I turned around I was pelted in the face with a dodgeball then I started to fall over but was caught by someone. When I looked up I saw Akaito holding me with one hand and a dodgeball in the other. He set me down on the ground gently then got up and chucked his dodgeball with full force which hit the purple haired guy in the chest. Akaito gave him a pissed look.
"Kamui it's just a game, your little prince can live with being hit in the face" Akaito yelled then got hit in the side by the girl with blonde hair.
Everyone started to laugh then Kamui, Akaito, and me went to go sit on the bleachers. The teams now consisted of three on one. IA threw a ball at the blonde girl but she bounced it off the ball in her hand. She grabbed the ball IA threw then chucked it at Hatsune hitting her in the shoulder. Hatsune walked to the bleachers then sat next to me. With another good throw the blonde girl got IA out. She saw who was left and sighed then went to sit on the bleachers next to Hatsune. The blondes just stood there with a ball in their hands looking at each other. I was getting a weird vibe off of the two of them. IA noticed that I was confused then leaned over to talk to me.
"Those two are Rin and Len Kagamine the girl is Rin and the boy is Len, they have the same last name but they act like lovers so no one knows what their true relationship is" IA said which unconfused me a little but I still got a weird feeling off them.
Rin and Len both dropped the ball they were each holding then smiled.
"We give up" they said in unison then started to laugh.
Everyone in the room face palmed then started to laugh.
"Same old Rin and Len" yelled Hatsune.
That just caused everyone to laugh harder until they were crying. Everyone's laughter was interrupted by the bell. They got off the bleachers then grabbed their stuff and went to their next class. For the rest of the day I had no one I knew in my classes then the end of the day came around. Hatsune took me to her club with IA, Akaito, Kaito, Kamui, and Rin and Len. I had no idea that all of them were in the same club as my cousin. We reached the school auditorium then all of us went in. We were greeted by the club advisor which you guessed it was Mr. Yamada. There was two girl who were sitting on the stage waiting there for us. One was a girl with long pink hair that went just under her hips and she dressed odd, she had a pair of gold high heels that laced up with black shoelaces and also went up to right below her knees, a black dress that left a slit up her leg showing her thighs almost showing her underwear, a gold belt around her waist, a bunch of gold jewelry around her neck, and to top it off she had a pair of gold headphones on top of her head. The other girl had green hair that went to her shoulders. She had a orange dress shirt that she tucked into a short orange skirt that went to her mid thigh. I recognized her from somewhere but couldn't figure out how. When the two of them saw us they stood up and smiled then walked up to us. Hatsune smiled at them then went to hug them.
"Hey Miku" the pink haired girl said while going to hug her.
"Hi Luka" she said back with a smile.
The green haired girl hugged them both then the three of them started to laugh. They looked like old acquaintances who hadn't saw each other in years, but I'm guessing they saw each other in one of their classes. They separated from each other then Luka and the green haired girl looked at me. They then looked at Hatsune with a confused look. Hatsune went over to me then put her arm around my shoulder.
"Luka, Gumi, this is my cousin Miku Zatsune she just started to go here today" Hatsune said then smiled at me.
Now I remembered Gumi was in my history class fifth period. Luka and Gumi came up to me and smiled at me then looked at Hatsune.
"What do we call her since you have the same first name" asked Luka.
Hatsune was about to say something but I interrupted her.
"You can call me Zatsune" I answered for Hatsune.
There was the sound of someone clearing their throat then everyone looked over at Mr. Yamada.
"I think you should start to practice singing" He said ushering them towards the auditorium stage.
Everyone except me went onto the stage, once they were all set they started to sing. They sounded like a choir of angels was singing and I was sitting in my seat singing the song in my head. Once they finished the song they broke up into groups. Rin and Len did a duet, Akaito, Kaito, and Kamui sang a rock song together and they sounded great together, Luka sang a song by herself as did Gumi and IA, Finally my cousin started to sing and she sounded so good that it brought tears to my eyes. Once she finished she went into the auditorium seats and grabbed me. She dragged me onto the stage then gave me a microphone. I started to get nervous and I couldn't think. I looked over at my cousin and gave her a help me look.
"What should I sing" I asked.
She smiled at me then came closer to me so she could whisper in my ear.
"Whatever you want to sing" she answered then walked off the stage.
Everyone was sitting in the auditorium seats staring at me. I closed my eyes then started to sing a song I used to sing when I was younger. The words came out so naturally and I started to get into the song. When I got to a catchy spot Hatsune and IA got up on the stage and started to dance next to me in unison. After a few seconds I joined in on the dancing and started to have a lot of fun. When I finished the song I put the microphone down next to my hip. A few seconds past then everyone started to clap then stood up. Akaito and Kaito started to whistle. Hatsune and IA started to clap then they both hugged me. Everyone then got up from their seats and got on the stage with me. They started to high five me and pat me on the back, they were all saying such nice stuff to me. I felt happy hearing all of them than a few happy tears escaped from my eyes. I looked at Hatsune then smiled.
"I don't think being here will be that bad anymore" I thought then gave my cousin a big hug.
She was surprised but then hugged me back.
