"So Effie, are you ready?"

It was the eve of Effie and Haymitch's wedding, and, after a day of running around the Capitol to pick up a few last-minute items and enjoy some heavy pampering, Effie and Katniss were back at Effie's apartment. Effie and Haymitch had decided to get married in the Capitol, as Effie didn't know anyone in 12 all that well and President Paylor had offered up her mansion for the reception, which Effie could not say no to.

"I think so. I'm excited; I just hope Haymitch likes everything." Effie and Katniss had been in the Capitol for a week making last-minute preparations and putting the finishing touches on the wedding; Haymitch and Peeta had come in by train the night before and were staying in the Presiden't mansion, as she had told them they could use two of the extra rooms she had instead of renting a hotel.

"I'm sure he will; don't worry," Katniss said, "I can't wait to see your dress." Effie had kept the dress a secret from everyone except from her friend Aleena, who had put the dress together. All anyone knew about it was that it was one of Effie's own designs and that, as a wedding gift, the magazine she worked for had covered the cost of it, as it was apparently extremely, extremely expensive.

"I am rather excited to get to wear it," Effie responded, "Well… I suppose we should be getting to bed; we have a big, big, big day ahead of us, you know."

"Yeah, we do," Katniss said, rolling her eyes. Some things never changed, "Goodnight Effie; I'll see you in the morning."

"Sleep well, dear," Effie trilled. She could hardly contain her excitement over the next day's events.
