Ronin Warriors Valentine's Day Short
This I Promise You
A Sage Date Short Story
Selena Tyme was Sage Date's first, long time, girlfriend.
He was amazed this one lasted as long as it did; two and a half years!
Sage met her when he and the other four Ronin's were rescuing her and ten others that were kidnapped by a demon that was using them as slaves.
He was amazed that she wasn't like all the other women he has met-not counting Mia Koji, since she was fifteen years apart from them and never showed that kind of interest in any of the five. Selena had said there was always an oddball in a group and that she was one of them because she was raised to believe that a man should always make the first move.
And he did because she had shown interest in him but didn't advance Sage. She only gave him small hints to where he noticed them and he took it from there.
He liked all the differences about her; that's what attracted him to her in the first place.
In just three days, Valentine's Day was going to be upon them, and Sage had something special planned for just the two of them.
But something that Sage thought would never happen in his life came into play.
Selena was in a serious car crash, hit by a drunk driver!
The doctors told him that she was in a coma and they didn't know when or if she'd wake up.
Sage couldn't handle this! She was the love of his life!
He visited her every day, and when it became Valentine's Day, Sage was there with 12 red roses and a medium size grey Valentine bear with the words "I Love You" on a red heart it held.
Once he sat the items down on a side table, Sage leaned in and kissed Selena on the top of the head. "I love you. Please wake up. Wake up now. I don't want to spend this Valentine's Day without you!"
He has cried since the day she ended up in the hospital, but today was different. He rested his head on her stomach.
Green light encompassed his body and at the same time for him to notice it, he felt his kanji upon his forehead vibrate.
Sage looked down at himself not knowing what was going on. Then when his kanji was still but still showing upon his forehead, he knew then what it meant.
He put his right hand on top of her forehead and after a minute, Selena's eyes opened.
Sage stopped glowing and had, instead, a huge smile plastered on his face.
"Sage?"
"Hey." He laid his hand gently on her cheek. "Welcome back."
"What do you mean?"
"You were in a coma for three and a half days. I brought you back. I can't live without you. You're everything to me. I love you and I will do anything for you. This I promise you."
"I love you too, Sage."
He kissed her gently on the lips.
"Oh! And Happy Valentine's Day."
