We all remember the end of Black Butler season one, yes? I had to review it to copy down the dialogue. It was kind of hard, I was fangirling too hard. XD

"Master, can you last long enough for me to count down from ten?"

Could he? Ciel already felt his hand slipping from the metal of the unfinished bridge, made cold by the night air and slippery by his own sweaty palms. He couldn't hold on, he just couldn't. But he would. For Sebastian. "Yes!" What he didn't add was, 'If I can find ten reasons to'.

He could practically hear the smirk in Sebastian's response, "Then here we go. Ten!"

Ten…

"Nine!"

Nine…

The haunting sound of a children's nursery rhyme filled the air, "Revolting!"

"Eight!"

I- I can't. I-

"Unclean! Bad!"

I am… unclean… unnecessary…

"Seven!"

"Useless! Evil!"

I am… useless... unwanted… unloved…

"Six!"

I- Ciel felt his fingers slip and almost fell into the dark, churning waves below. He had to do this, there had to be something!

"Filthy, defiled!"

There is… only … one person…

"Five!"

Ten, the way his bright red eyes watch over me at all times. Nine, the way his arms wrap around me as he carries me home.

"Four!"

Eight, the playful teases I pretend to hate. Seven, the pointless games we play continuously.

"Three!"

I am not filthy. Six, the warm embraces he gives when I need them the most. Five, the mocking smirk that never leaves his lips.

"Two!"

Hurry! Four, the way he always come to my side when I call. Three, the promise he gave me that fateful night… and that promise leads to… Two… the fact he only stay because of that promise…

"One…"

And one… the way he… only pretends to care…

Even from behind his eyelids, Ciel could see the explosion of light as Sebastian hit 'one', the last number in his countdown. He heard faint screaming, as if far off in the distance. He was almost blown off the bridge but… he couldn't let go. He would hold on until Sebastian came for him. But after that…

"It's over now, master."

Ciel was hanging on as tightly as he could. He was almost scared to open his eyes in the cold wind. Despite his worry, he did so and looked up at Sebastian and was dismayed by what he saw. He saw Sebastian's smile, an exhausted, relieved one. Were the circumstances different, he'd have smiled back. But Sebastian had to make do with a forced one as Ciel let go.
