Harry Potter Novel #1
"Harry," Lily called from downstairs "Today is your first day at Hogwarts! Remember?"
Harry grumbled something about, too early for yelling, then after processing what his mom had said, he jumped out of bed, covers falling to the ground. Harry quickly got ready then threw open the door. His dad, James, was standing just outside his doorway.
"Hey kiddo," his dad was grinning at him "aren't you totally pumped up for school?"
Harry nodded his head and told his dad, "Which cabin were you and mom in?"
"Gryffindor."
Harry tilted his head curiously "Both of you?"
"Yup" his dad replied.
"Harry! Get down here," His mom yelled "Did you let the owl in the kitchen?"
Harry stared at his dad. His dad smiled back at him. "Did you do it," he whispered. James nodded, and Harry shot a look at him.
"Yeah," he called to his mom "But he was hungry! Also, he has a name. It's Ronald."
"Fine," She stomped her foot loudly "But come and get him! We have to leave in just a few."
Harry got ready quickly, then they headed down to Diagon Alley to get himself supplies for the school year. They got all his books, his cauldron, and went down to Ollivander's wand shop. There was a very large collection of wands, and an old man sitting behind the counter, giving Harry a nice smile.
The man, Ollivander, nodded and smiled at Harry's parents. James and Lily were famous for defeating Voldemort.
"Now, now. The famous Potter family," Ollivander winked "I think I know just the perfect wand for you," he rummage through the shelves and pulled out a medium sized wand "Holly and Unicorn feathers," Ollivander placed the wand into Harry's hand. "Ah," he said "Perfect."
When he touched the wand, Harry felt a tingling sensation in his hand. He smiled. "Thank you Mr. Ollivander Sir."
Ollivander gave Harry a small nod "Of course." They left the shop and Harry wandered around Diagon Alley alone. He saw a light haired boy looking at a Nimbus 2000. He was pointing to it and saying, "I want it!" Harry approached the boy.
"Hello," the boy said "My name is Draco Malfoy." he held out his hand. Harry shook it. To his right, Harry saw a girl with brown hair talking to her muggle parents. "I've bought just about every book there is in the shop." she was saying.
"Mudbloods," Harry snorted "And why did she bring her muggle parents down here?"
"I agree," Draco said "She'll be in Hufflepuff. The leftovers." Draco smirked. "What house are you planning on being in?"
"Don't know, don't care," Harry smiled. It felt good to already have a friend.
"Well," Draco said "See you on the train."
"Bye!"
A week had soon passed, and Harry found himself on the Hogwarts Express, Waving to his mum and dad. "Bye!" They called. Harry called back.
"See you later mum and dad!" Harry went to go find Draco on the train. He found Draco sitting in a carriage with two other boys who looked very intimidating.
