A/N: Well, my initial plans were to update An Empty Locker Full of Love and post a one-shot with Silver and an OC, but seeing as how I couldn't find it, I decided to post this one instead. It is very, very short, abnormally short, but I think it's sweet and since I found this in my two hour search, it shall be typed! By the way, my cousin's girlfriend just had their baby a couple of minutes ago! Happy Birthday Dominic James Darren! And Happy Birthday to my sister! Oh man, she'll be P.O.'ed when she finds out that he was born on her birthday… I do not own Pokémon!
After the battle with Ash, Gary just walked away. No gloating, no bragging, nothing. He just smiled and left with a wave of his hand. I didn't think he deserved that.
"Gary, wait!" I yelled, running after him. He turned around with a look of surprise on his face.
"Lana? What are you doing?" By the time I caught up with him, we were isolated by the forest.
"I-I wanted to say goodbye," I said, blood rising to my cheeks.
"Well…I don't really like to say goodbyes; it makes me feel a little depressed."
I smiled. "Please, Gary. It's going to be forever until I see you again and I don't want to remember just the back of your head.
"Okay…Bye." He started to turn and walk away.
"Wait!" I grabbed his arm. "I wanted to ask you something before you left." He looked confused.
"Wha—" I cut him off by pressing my lips against him as I became enveloped in Gary's arms. My arms wrapped around his neck as the kiss deepened. Once we broke apart, Gary smirked. "What kind of question was that?"
"Actually it was more of a statement. Now you know how shocked I was when you kissed me in Viridian City. Don't surprise me again."
He smiled. "Ah, but life is full of surprises." Gary leaned in close enough so that I could see his individual freckles and grabbed my hand; he began to stroke it. "I'll be seeing you, Lana, soon; I promise." He pulled my hand up to his lips and gently kissed my knuckles. After one last intimate hug, he left on his way once more.
Gary was right, goodbyes were depressing.
