I was working on Sunshine Eyes when inspiration hit me. I hope you enjoy it. :D (I hope I chose the right genres. D: Correct me if I'm wrong, please.) I chose to use 'Mommy' and 'Daddy' instead of 'Okaa-san' and 'Otou-san' because they just seem more childish. I hope that doesn't bother you. n3n

"Haha, Mommy! That's so funny!" Sasuke was giggling as he held tightly onto his mother's hand. A joyful feeling grew inside Sasuke as the birds chirped happily while flying throughout the sunny Uchiha district. His clan members were bustling around, completing their daily tasks. A chatter arose and he couldn't help but smile. He was part of the strongest clan, and, like Daddy and Itachi, would be a ninja someday. He could see the high ranked missions now. Maybe he'd even join the Konoha Police Force. Life would be good.

Suddenly, a commotion began up ahead. People started to collect in the center of the street, trying to see what was happening. Sasuke could tell that something was wrong. His mother let go of his hand and ran into the mass of bodies.

"Mommy?!" Sasuke called, before her body disappeared. "Mommy!" He called again, close to tears. Why had his mommy left him behind? Was whatever that was happening more important than him? He fell backwards onto the ground and started to sob. His Mommy didn't love him! She wouldn't have left him if she did!

Just as suddenly as it had began, the yelling silenced and the mass of bodies deteriorated. As everyone went back to their work, Sasuke's mother reemerged from the lessening crowd and walked back to Sasuke. He stood up quickly and ran to her, his little arms wrapping around her as tightly as they could.

"Mommy! You left me!" Sasuke wailed, overreacting just as a child his age would. A worried expression overcame his mother's face and she hugged him.

"I'm so sorry, Sasu-chan! I just wanted to make sure that no one was hurt or in trouble. I'll never leave you again." She ran her hand through his raven hair and spoke softly. Sasuke wiped his eyes on her shirt and looked up at her.

"Promise?" Sasuke asked, sniffling slightly. His mother crouched down so that she could look right into his eyes. She smiled before she spoke.

"I promise, Sas-" She stopped mid-sentence. Her face went blank and Sasuke's eyes widened as she fell limp, dust rising into the air as she hit the ground. She wasn't breathing.

"Mommy!" Sasuke fell to his knees, feeling as if the life was being pulled out of him as well. Being as determined as he was, Sasuke pulled together the last of his strength and crawled to her. What could be wrong with his Mommy? As he reached out a hand to touch her, everything became silent. The birds turned into crows and watched idly. The people all became darker and stared at him. The sun was behind a dark, grey cloud. Everyone and everything was waiting for Sasuke. As his fingers grazed his mother's skin, a wind picked up and her body crumbled. He wretched his arm back and watched as the dust that was once his mother blew away. She was gone.
All at once the people around him crumbled where they stood and blew away as well. Sasuke looked around in a panic, searching for other human life. He didn't find anyone; he was the only one left. The crows cawed, laughing at him, before they flew towards the cloud that hid the sun. But, when the cloud moved, the moon greeted him with a numbing cold instead of the glowing warmth he expected. Rain began to fall and it took the bright colors of the day with it, leaving only darkness and despair to decorate the Uchiha district. The rain began to pool around Sasuke's feet as he tried to run away. It was no use, though; his feet wouldn't move. The water rose and pulled him under. He struggled to get back to the surface, back to his home, back to his life, back to happiness.

He never made it.
