Chapter 1

I stared at him his eyes burning emerald looked back at me I figured this could be the last time I ever saw him. My life flashed before my eyes lips touching lips secrets shared and the happiness I felt Edwards eyes burned with the intensity he knew I was dying and yet he knew he could do nothing to stop it. My heart beat furiously in my chest hurt more than ever broken in two is my word for it halved in the middle yet I wanted it to be whole full for the love of my life that was never going to see me again. I held onto my life with numb hands hanging on the edge I didn't want it to be real I wanted it to be surreal I didn't want to say goodbye to my life and the ones I loves yet here I was strapped onto a hospital bed hanging onto the last threads of my life. Edward took my hand and squeezed it his eyes burned with the pain he had tried to hide from me for so long but now as I lay here the pain showed itself and I wanted so much to comfort him to tell him it would all be ok I would make it through this but reality hit home and I knew there was no point that I wasn't going to be alright.

"Edward" I managed to say

He looked at me his eyes glittering with the tears he tried to keep back

"Yes, honey?" he murmured

"I don't want to die"

He didn't reply I felt my eyes slide shut without my permission NO I screamed in my head not now. I tried to pull Edwards face into view his emerald eyes and his bronze hair but I couldn't …

I woke screaming at the top of my lungs and looked around I was in my own bed and I was alive. I got up and stretched going to the window and looking out it was a beautiful sunny day. I smiled and got dressed, brushed my teeth and hair then I walked down the stairs. I threw a couple of pop tarts in the toaster and stared out the kitchen window onto our green lawn. I was eating a pop tart when the doorbell went. I answered it to Edward who stood bronze hair shimmering in the sunlight green eyes widened with all the devotion he felt for me I smiled back as he grinned and held the door opened. Edward sat on the odd chair at the dinning room table and stole my full pop tart biting off a piece.

"Hey" I laughed stealing it back of him "that's mine"

He laughed and gave me it back. As I placed it on the table he lifted my head in his hands cupping my chin. I looked back at him into his green eyes and sighed then he leaned down and kissed me hard on the lips my heart fluttered and so did he electricity flowed between us at that point. Edward dropped my face and looked me in the eye

"Time to go to school?" he asked

"Yeah I guess it is"

He took my hand entwining our fingers and led me to the door we paused briefly for me to grasp my bag and jacket then we were walking to my truck time to start a new day I thought as we climbed in and I started the engine with a small sigh at Edward who smiled in reply then I pulled out of the drive and smiled as I drove down the street…
