I thought I love that…that pink haired girl. But I didn't. I loved him. And I never knew until it was too late.
Engaged for 2 years, I thought I was living the life. A beautiful wife, who, apparently loved me much.
But I learned different later.
I ran down the halls of his Kazekage building, looking for anyone that could tell me where he is.
I found his brother, and stopped him in the hall. "Gaara! Where is Gaara!" I begged, grabbing him by the shoulder and shaking him.
He shrugged my hands off and told me to follow him, and I did. He took me to a room where everyone was wearing black, and you could hear a girls stifled sobbing. Unfortunately, I stuck out in my green jumpsuit and orange leg warmers.
"It is nice of you to be joining us, Kankurou-san, Lee-sama." One of the Elders said to us, bowing.
"Gaara…Where is he?" I asked. I felt tears stinging at my eyes.
She motioned towards this large box sitting in the front of the room, and I felt my heart drop. I ran up to the box, pushing everyone who was standing there out of the way.
And there was him. His beautiful porcelain face was silent, his eyes closed and peaceful, his sand armor off, showing his sun deprived skin and his lighter red hair.
My tears fell on his face. I made no move to wipe them off, only threw myself over the coffin and sobbed loudly as the others stared.
"What is he doing…?" I would hear them whisper.
"I heard he is Gaara's secret lover!" Others would answer. But it didn't matter to me. I ignored them, and sobbed.
I felt a hand on my shoulder, and I looked up to see Temari standing there, tears running down her cheeks as well.
"Lee-kun…" She gasped, holding back a sob.
I looked up at her. "Why Temari…Why…"
She just looked at me.
And then I truly understood the meaning of:
'You Don't Know What You Got 'Til It's Gone.'
