I know it's not much, but it was a simple idea that turned into a fun one. Have fun reading!

She picked her way along an outcropping of rock that stretched into the river a few feet until it stopped, swallowed by the river. It wound in a lazy circle, curving out as if it could reach the other side. A soft wind blew, blowing her brunette hair back off her shoulders. I'm glad Edward's not here, she couldn't help thinking, he'd probably freak out! Bending down, she picked up a smooth stone. It looked great for skipping, though she herself had never done it before.

"Bella!" an urgent voice called. The girl whipped around to see Edward standing, the sun lighting his bronze hair like a halo. He wore jeans, and a long sleeve blue shirt. His face was pale, set in stone; emotionless. She knew he was worried about her all the same, "Bella, get back here before you hurt yourself!"

Typical of him to remind her how easily she was hurt. She sighed, thankful yet again that he couldn't hear her thoughts. He might just have something to say about her great delight. Responding, "Don't be such a worry-wort!" she continued, picking her way through the rubble.

He was next to her in a matter of seconds, saying, "If you hurt yourself, I swear—"

"Then I won't, and I'm not quite sure that the Volturi will welcome you so easily a second time," Bella responded, laughing slightly.

He frowned, "Look, you've got dirt on your jeans!" It was true, her blue jeans were scuffed, but there were reasons why you wore clothes, and one just so happened to be that they kept dirt off.

"It's fine," she dismissed, clutching the stone in her hand. She prepared to throw it, when her foot slipped.

"Look, you almost fell," Edward scolded, righting her, "Let's go back—"

"I'm just going to try and skip this, okay?" He didn't seem inclined to want to, but he let her anyway. Pitching it out, it skipped twice, then sunk. "That was terrible!" Bella frowned, heading out further.

"Bella!" Edward stated, exasperated.

"Just a minute!" Did he have to be so protective of her? She got to the end of the outcrop, searching for another rock. Edward was a bit behind, looking out over the river. Her foot slipped yet again (what a surprise), and she tumbled into the water, far deeper and colder than she thought. Hands pulled her up instantaneously, setting her gently on the rocks.

""What did I tell you?" he scolded, his golden eyes blazing slightly. He had that face that was clam, but he looked as if he was going to start telling her off.

"I was, too, careful!" Bella objected.

"Maybe next time, we should skip on the shore," he laughed, kissing her lips.

"Or we could just make out some more," she murmured into his mouth, her arms encircling his neck. He lifted her up, laughed, and walked towards shore.
