The Midnight Moon: Latest Intentions

Chapter One: I'm Burning Away, My Loves

The rain washed away her burning, white hot tears as the young flower cried into the dark skies of the night, wishing for someone, anyone to come rescue her from herself. The young Haruno Sakura, once a precious member of Team 7 was now all alone in the world left to cry herself to sleep each night in a dark, murky state of mind. The thought of walking through the village she once loved with all her being and would have done anything to protect, just to come face to face with the wretched reminders of her beloved team mates abandonment in the form of brilliantly bright fresh flowers littering their still warm graves was too much for her to bear. "Why have such pretty flowers... for something so gruesome and cruel..." Sakura whispered to the night sky as she peered out her window, slightly comforted by the cool night air. "Why?" If she had known that finding Sasuke and making Naruto promise to find him for her would be similar to sending her teammates into the lair of a snake, she would never have done it. But the poor girl knew now that life's not always fair and that fate isn't something to control. Even if you love someone, sometimes the magic that makes all things right never happens. She knew that all too well by now, wasn't her first and only love cold and rotting beneath six feet of grim? Sometimes Sakura liked to think she still had him to stand by her side or to try to impress with her silly, childish games. Just one more chance to prove myself to them, my love for them. It would have been worth everything to me. Sakura wished that she could join her loves, in death that night.

For unknown to anyone else, she was the one who was sent out to bring them back. Dead or alive.
