Sitting cross-legged in one of her favorite spots in Thunderbluff, Ari couldn't quite pinpoint how she was feeling. Normally the druidic magic and sounds of the wind and birds made her feel more at ease. But today, she was feeling…restless. She gave an impatient huff of breath and lay out on her back, mindful of the deadly drop off just a couple of feet away.

She was about to embark on yet another journey to a strange destination. This time, Arinil would be going with her. This thought drew a frown to her lips as she thought about their last encounter. The mage had always been able to draw out the remaining bits of childish temper from her. But this time, she had felt as if it had been forced. Or rather…the entire encounter just seemed…off.

Ari closed her eyes, putting an arm over her forehead. The beginnings of a headache started and she grunted. With another sigh, the Farstrider pushed herself to her feet, dusted off the leather of her pants and made her way to the inn she was staying in. Giving a nod to the Tauren woman that ran it; she headed upstairs and made herself comfortable on the straw mattress of her bed.

Staring up at the ceiling, the blood elf went over again what she was feeling. She pinned it on restlessness the first few times she went over it on the ledge. Ari didn't know why she was obsessing over it, but something just didn't add up. It wasn't the prospect of intimate time that had scared her off from it. It was the way in which her lover had made it all into something it shouldn't have been.

"I shouldn't have to bargain and fight with him in order to get him to listen. Arrogant bastard…" Ari muttered, giving a groan afterward. After all that they had been through, it appeared that he was turning into something that closer resembled her brothers than what she considered proper behavior of a lover. Once this comparison clicked in, Ari closed her eyes and let out a soft gasp.

Ari knew it wasn't fair to compare her past with her present. The overall cruelty of her brothers paled in comparison to what her father had done to her. Still, they had not stopped the Dawnseeker Patriarch from abusing her mother or herself. That made them just as culpable in her eyes as her bastard of a father. Arinil certainly didn't fall into their category, but that arrogance was one and the same. Pushing these thoughts aside, the Farstrider tried not to let doubt assail her.

Maybe this journey into the unknown would bring them closer together. Ari grimaced softly at the opposite thought. What if it drove them further apart…? The possibility was there and she knew then that the doubt would linger, if only as a shadow.
