In Love & War
AU Dair- 1960s: When the rich and spoiled princess of UES gets wind up in a violent riot in Brooklyn, a bookshop clerk comes to her rescue.
This is an idea I have had for a while, what would it be like if Dan and Blair had opposite political stance. Dan is studying Journalism in Columbia. He is an activist and in the meantime works at a bookshop to make some money. It is always nice to write about 60-70s so I wrote this as an introduction/preview. I am not so sure if it will work so any input/comment is welcomed. Should I continue?

Blair checked the small piece of paper folded in her hand to see if the address was right. She cursed under her breath and prayed that noone familiar spots her.
Blair Waldorf, wandering around at night in Brooklyn of all places. She'd rather die than explain where she was going. It better be worth it, she thought. It was her first date with Carter Baizen, the most popular boy back in highschool. He was her first crush for as long as she remembers, one who didn't even know she existed until recently Serena, her best friend literally pushed Blair onto him at a charity event.
He was charming, rich and truly handsome but more than that he had that edgy badboy look that got all girls at school drooling at him. So when he asked her out for a party, she couldn't stop smiling like a total fool and agreed to it.
Sure, meeting up at a party in a dirty club wasn't her ideal date. Clubbing wasn't her scene at all to begin with, so unlady like and beneath her. But it was Carter! She couldn't pass up an opportunity like this. Usually she would demand he picks her up like a perfect gentleman. However knowing she could never explain it to her parents, she agreed that they meet at the club and told her mother that she was staying at Serena's. She stopped by at Serena's house so the driver can report back to confirm her story which allowed her to change into what she thought would be more suitable outfit for a club.
As she walked, she realized there were only few drunk men out on the street. Maybe it was a bad idea to send the driver off. After she turned around the corner, she heard chants that were getting closer by the second. Soon there was a crowd marching towards her, carrying anti-war signs
"STOP THE WAR"
"WE WON'T FIGHT ANOTHER RICH MAN'S WAR."
She gulped and cursed her luck.
"Great!"
Not this. Not now. She began to walk faster, in the opposite direction and that's when she realized things would get worse in seconds. The police were marching towards the crowd while warning them to step back which was not happenning anytime soon. In a few minutes she would get stuck in between them, yet she was so shocked, all she could do was stand there.
Before she could register, a teargas cannon fell right in front of her and everything got blurry. It was then she felt someone grab and pull her.
A man.
He pulled her towards his chest, trying to cover both their faces with his jacket. She was paralyzed, her gaze fixated on this stranger watching his every move.
She managed to snapped out of it, only when she heard him lock the door.
She looked around and realized she was now locked in a dark bookstore with a complete stranger. With noone knowing where she was.
