Paris, 1911

It was a dull grey morning in Paris. The wind was sweeping over the streets in a whirlwind of motion. "Sold. Your number sir? Thank you" The auctioneer handed an older man a poster from the play 'Hannibal' by Chalumeau. He grinned as he observed the painting, its bright colours faded. It didn't matter to him that was what he wanted. The auctioneer paused before starting the next bid.

"Ladies and Gentleman: A royal blue bracelet, attached the figure of a golden dragon. This item, discovered in the vaults of the theatre is still in working order, ladies and gentleman. Showing here" he gestured to the bracelet which was giving off a faint glow.

"May I commence at fifteen francs?" he went through the numbers until they reached thirty francs. "Thirty once, thirty twice. Sold for thirty francs to Everett Meyer-The Vicomte de Changy."

"Thank you sir" said Everett shyly.

As he fingered the bracelet, Everett heard a voice.

A fancy find indeed

All the details exactly as should be

Will you still gleam when all the rest of us did flee...

Duchess Elizabeth shook his shoulder gently "Are you ok?" she asked. Everett swept his brown hair to the side of his ears because it had blown in his face. "I'm alright" he responded with a distant look in his eyes.

"Some of you may recall the strange affair of the Phantom of the Opera: a mystery never fully explained. We are told, ladies and gentleman, that this is the very chandelier which was used in that very disaster." He motioned towards an object concealed in a white cover. "We have repaired it to work again. Perhaps we can frighten away the ghost of years ago with a little light"
