Summary: Grandma Yin tries to comfort Prince Wu after he and Mako have a fight. Just a cute little drabble for fun!
Flaming Prince
Prince Wu pouted at the table, his eyes watery as lower lip quivered. Mako's grandmother, Yin, patted his hands tenderly as he sniffled.
"There, there, Prince Wu," Grandma Yin said as she tried to comfort him. Wu wiped his eye with one of his hands as he looked at Mako's grandmother. She was such a kind woman and she thought the world of Wu.
"I've told you before you don't have to call me Prince Wu. Wu is fine." Yin's eyes lit up she looked at the young prince. She couldn't understand how Mako could upset him!
"You just wait until that grandson of mine get's home. I'm going to give him a piece of mind!" she said as she wiggled her finger in the air.
"Grandma Yin, I am so lucky that I have someone like you in my life. Sometimes I think you're the only one that understands me." Grandma Yin smiled brightly as she patted the boy's cheek.
"You're just the sweetest thing!" Both Wu and Yin smiled. However their delighted expressions faded when they heard the front door open and close. Yin pursed her lips and glared at Mako as he came into the room. Mako looked to his grandmother and then to Wu who looked as if he had been crying earlier. Mako sighed heavily knowing exactly where this was going.
"Mako, how dare you leave this house when Wu is so heartbroken!" shouted Yin.
"Grandma, I had to work. He wanted me to call today off when I already called the day before off!"
"Well you should be happy that Wu loves you so much that he hates to be away from you," Yin said, glaring at her grandson.
"I have a job! I had to go. You know that Wu can be sensitive," Mako couldn't believe this. Why was his grandmother always on his side!
"All the more reason to not leave him alone at home. I came back from shopping to find him with tears in his eyes!"
"Grandma, I've already told you…"
"I want you to apologize!"
"But grandma!"
"No buts! Now you apologize to Wu right now, Mako!" Mako's faced turned red with embarrassment as he ran his hand over his face. These two will be the death of me, he thought to himself.
"Wu, I'm sorry for leaving you when you were upset. But you know that I have work and you know that I can't be with you all day. And if that's not enough, I did drop by the food market and got some of your favorites on my way back home," said Mako.
Prince Wu smiled as he got up and wrapped his arms around the firebender.
"I'm sorry too!" he said with a wide smile. "I just can't help but miss you when you're gone!" Mako rolled his eyes but was happy that Wu had forgiven him.
"Awww!" Mako looked over to his grandmother who was smiling with joy as she watched the two boys make up. Mako took hold of Wu's shoulders lightly and stepped back out of his embrace. He smiled at Wu and then to his grandmother, his cheeks still red with embarrassment.
"I think I should get to bed, I have work early tomorrow," he left the room and Wu instantly sulked as he hurried after him.
"You have work again!" he yelled in disbelief.
Grandma Yin smiled to herself as she heard the boys arguing. "Such good boys," she said to herself.
A/N: I am loving this ship and I freaking love Grandma Yin! I can totally see this happening too, it's ridiculous.
