A/N- Thanks for the corrections. It's been a while since I saw the episode.

Promises

"Come on Joanie. Show me. You promised." Judith said weakly from her bed. Only a few hours ago, she had been stabbed, and now, she was going to do her best not to see Joan cry.

"I...I don't think I can." Joan replied shakily.

"Come on! You told me that next time you saw me, you would."

Joan nodded, and looked about the room for something to juggle. She spied some rolls of gauze, and started to toss them up into the air. It didn't work though.

"Take your time." Judith reminded her. "Nice and slow. Follow the gauze."

This time, she got it. And, as Judith watched, she felt her heart and breathing slowing. Told you I would teach you Joanie. Told you. Promise kept. she thought as she closed her eyes. The last ting she heard was the beep of the heart moniter making a continual noise, letting her know that her time had run out. Promise kept. She reminded herself again as she took her last breath.

Morbid, I know, but it needed to be written. Please tell me what you think.
