Grief Of The Recovered

By: Thalia Williams

Why? A simple start of a question that everyone, toddler to man, ask all the time. And not everyone gets the answer. It's a sad world we live in, and Antonio Gomez is feeling the reason to ask the question. Someone had killed his daughter. In cold blood her life was taken. His little girl, of only 7 was already gone from the world. His world and her families' life. Never will she disappear from their minds, and it kills all of them inside. This is the story of how the heal. Almost fully they will recover.

Chapter 1: It's Going To Be Okay

"It's time to get up Andrew. Come and eat breakfast." Antonio called his son to get out of bed. He rarely did that anymore, not since Nia died. Nia Rae Aurora Gomez passed away two weeks ago, and it was hitting her big brother, and the oldest of their kids very hard. He hardly slept, and he found eating a want, instead of a need. He barely ate anymore to put it flatly. He was going end up dead at this rate. It hurt Antonio and Maria, his wife, and Andrew's mom.

"I'm not hungry today, dad." Andrew spoke in a voice, rid of any emotion. "Please Andrew, eat something. I know you miss your sister, we all do. Nia Rae was a big part of all of our lives, Please don't give up Drew." Antonio stated. "Dad, I'm just not hungry, I'm…" Andrew started, but his voice broke, he dived under the confinement of his covers. "Drew?" Antonio stated in a questioning voice. What was he supposed to do? Send his emotionally dismayed 16 year old to school, that was stating to suffer from insomnia and anorexia, though just mild cases, mild could easily turn severe.
