Spoilers: "Sans Voir"

The bullpen is bathed in that early-morning light, and filled with the slow hum of people sleepily starting their day. From the balcony, she leans on the railing and purses her lips, observing her team with fond eyes.

She watches silently as the dark-skinned "mama bear" and the restless nomad exchange friendly barbs, waiting to start the day and fall readily into their seamless partnership.

Soon they'll be joined by the shaggy-haired, slightly inappropriate surfer and the tough but oh-so-girly agent, who can't seem to stop screwing around or bickering with each other, yet are connected with such an underlying intensity it's almost scary.

A smile crosses her lips. That pair will be the death of her.

The team gets rounded out by the laid-back techie and the petite but commanding redhead, the pair that has such an awkward attraction to each other it's almost comical.

And so this completes the dysfunctional family. Oh, sure, there are others included: the stoic psychologist out abroad, as well as the ones they will always mourn—the eager probie who didn't deserve the fate he came to, and the easygoing agent killed by the Chameleon right in front of them.

Yet the heart of the team lies in those six. The ones so interconnected that to take away one would be to cripple the team. The ones that would go to any length for one another, and then tease each other incessantly on the way home. The ones who know each other almost as well as they know themselves.

They may not be perfect, they may not be conventional, but there's no way in hell she would trade them for anything else.
