Oh I can so see my mother and I doing something like this. :D Anyway, I love this song, and The Fastest Kid Alive's Cover of it. I highly suggest looking them up on YouTube. Enjoy!

"I'm bored."

Rory sighed, looking at her mother pouting next to her.

"Well, what do you propose we do?" the girl replied.

"We could… Order pizza!" Lorelai suggested.

"Um mom," Rory murmured, gesturing to the empty cardboard boxes that were thrown haphazardly on the coffee table.

"Oh yeah," Lorelai sighed.

The two sat in companionable silence for all of two seconds before the elder Gilmore Girl yelped in exclamation. Lorelai was off the couch like a shot and raced to the closet. Rory faintly heard the Bop-It and hoped to God that wasn't her mom's bright idea.

When she did emerge from the closet Rory really did fear for her mother's sanity. Clad in six feather boas and a sparkly crown Lorelai popped a CD into the player.

She threw some boas at Rory who stared at her skeptically before putting them around her neck.

"Mom?"

"We're gonna jam out!" Lorelai cried, grabbing Rory and spinning her around the living room as Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun echoed throughout the house.

"Jam out?" Rory quoted, smiling at her mother.

"Well, whatever the kids say these days," Lorelai replied exasperated, "Just dance!"

Rory hesitated for a minute but then began to dance and sing with her mother.

"Oh-oh girls just wanna have fun!" the two screeched as the fell giggling to the couch as the song ended.

"I love ya kid," Lorelai murmured, burying her face into Rory's hair.

"Love you too mom," Rory replied before smacking her with a boa.

And for the rest of the night mother and daughter raced around the house laughing and screaming as feathers made a multicolor carpet all around them.
