Death stink everywhere, stronger than any other. It fills up my nose. Cannot think for the bad smell. Makes it hard to find food. Before my last sleep, I ate rice and chicken bits on a table in an empty house. I wasn't allowed to climb on tables before. My two-legs would smack me if I did. But they are gone. The chicken was a bit off and tough, but I could eat it. I have found nothing since the sun came up, though. So I wander on.

The dead-not-dead roam the streets. Just like the two-legs used to, but the two-legs were always going somewhere. The dead-not-dead don't. They stumble and shuffle around, go round in circles. I can feel their hunger too. They cannot find prey either. I think they ate all the dogs. I don't know about the other cats. I haven't seen them, and the death stink covers up all other smells. I wrinkle my nose in disgust. Nasty, nasty.

I crawl on my belly, invisible, sneaking behind empty bins and inside small windows. Invisible. That is my one skill. They cannot see me. They cannot hear me. They cannot smell me.

Awfully lonely now. I miss the two-legs that lived in my house. They used to smack me if I climbed on the table or took food. But they also used to hold me and stroke my head and back and make me purr. But when the world changed, they got overrun. The dead-not-dead came and clawed their way through the door. The female wailed and held her young close while the male tried to fight off the herd. He only had a bat. I ran away. Didn't want to hear them scream so. I hate loud noises.

It's been many, many days since I last saw a two-leg. The dead-not-dead, they're everywhere. But the two-legs, they're dying out. Easy prey. They cannot climb, or crawl into tiny spaces like I can. They cannot run fast. They let themselves get surrounded and eaten. Sometimes they run away bleeding but then they die and become dead-not-dead like the others. I think maybe there are no more two-legs anywhere.

I huddle in a corner and let out a sad meow. Awfully lonely. Hungry, too. Must find food.

A/N: I have been wondering what happened to all the animals... so I decided to write from a cat's point of view. Let me know what you think - please review.
