Author's Note: Slight spoilers for Awakening so just a caution. Jerome and Selena's parents would be DonnyxSerge for Jerome and MUxTiamo for Selena. This would give Jerome light purple brownish hair (hard to explain) and Selena red hair because my MU will have red hair bc red heads are HOT! Anyway….you might read this story and say they are out of character because they are all lovey-dovey blah blah blah, but if you read their supports both of them hide behind masks. Jerome literally does wear a mask to hide his emotions. Both of them took their parents death in the future very hard. Selena became harsh and cruel to everyone. Jerome shut everyone out and kept to himself so they can bond over that fact. That's why they are my favorite couple of the 2nd gen

Promise

Jerome sat back and relaxed while he waited. It felt nice to get away from the battles and enjoy the nice weather. It was a scorching 95F, and the water felt great on his legs and feet. He wanted to get in completely but he had to wait.

Right on cue two hands went over his eyes and a smirk formed on his face.

"Who is it? You have to guess." The voice was playful.

Jerome smiled and grabbed her hands. "I wonder who it is? Could it be my lover, Selena?"

She giggled in response.

He leaned back onto her and she leaned forward to meet his lips. The two hid their relationship from the others so it was nice to express their love every now and then.

Selena removed his mask as they kissed. "I understand why you wear this thing, but I wish I could look into these eyes all the time."

Jerome still wasn't used to her compliments. Her real self was far from the harsh front she put on for everyone else.

"It's just who I am. Besides if I didn't wear it everyone would know about us."

Selena laughed while she played with his hair. "Why would that be?"

"I wouldn't be able to keep my eyes off you."

Selena rolled her eyes and pushed him into the water and jumped in behind. "You are too cheesy sometimes!" she yelled as she splashed at him.

He swam to her underwater to avoid getting splashed while she screamed trying to get away. He grabbed her and pulled her under where they stayed just staring at each other for a minute. Her long red hair floated beautifully around her giving her this magical mermaid look.

The two popped back up laughing and then held each other.

"Jerome? Do you think about what will happen when we go back?"

"What do you mean?"

"Us being here is against every law of nature. We could be dramatically changing our future."

Jerome tried to comfort Selena. "Isn't that what we came here for? This goal is so much bigger than us. If we change the future, the one we know, then all of this will have been worth it. Don't you agree?"

This seemed to upset Selena. He hated to see her this way. "I don't know. If we go back and we don't remember our time here would we still fall in love? This happened for a reason. I don't want to lose you, Jerome."

She turned in shame and swam to the edge to get out.

"Selena, wait. It isn't like that."

He grabbed her arm and pulled her in for a hug. "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared too, but I believe changing the future is right. Let us enjoy what we have now."

"I guess you are right. I let my fear get the best of me." Her head was pressed against Jerome's chest as he held her close. "Promise to always stay near me. I don't care what people think anymore."

"I promise."
