Stubborn Love

Love is for children. The one phrase that puts a bullet in his heart but for all his trying she seems stuck on that notion. And he knows she's seen too much bad and done too much bad to think there's any good left in this world.

But he can't stop loving her. And deep down he knows that there is something between them. Not a debt, as she says, for that's been repaid over and over again. Something much, much deeper. She might not agree that it's there but he knows that she knows it. For though she might not agree to it she definitely can't disagree that it's there.

It was when they first met, when he got that first spark and she recognized it immediately, that she began to love and hate. Hate him for loving, for bringing something back that practically destroyed her. But loving him for not seeing her as most. As a monster.

She swore when the orphanage burned down that she would never love again. She should've known that a promise like that would never last in a world ruled by emotions.

He understood why she did push him away. It was the same reason why he never went looking for his brother. The past must never be revisited.

But sometimes you have no choice.

The past keeps coming up and this she can never escape. The latest mission hit much closer to home than normal. And that was how he found her. Sitting in an empty room all alone. She told him and soon it became apparent that she wasn't talking about the mission.

After a long moment of silence she said the dreaded phrase:

"Love is for children."

He lifted his hand and pushed her chin so they were facing each other. "Then maybe they're still children."

Her answer was a smile and a nod.

So something sweet as an apology for not updating quicker and as a late treat for Valentine's Day.

Just so y'all know, I am writing Chapt. 6 of TA but Chapt. 2 of Secrets is being put on the back burner for now. I have to much stuff to do with third quarter and math and as we all know, SCHOOL COMES FIRST. I'll try to update sooner but other Fandoms have gotten in the way and I am kind of at a lost.

So you all know what to do. Please review. The two people I sent it two were head over heels but I want to make sure that I got these two characters right. They are two extremely deep characters and it is hard to tell when they are being themselves.

So review appreciated and I'll see you all in another two months.
