Hinoe coughed lightly in her chair and immediately felt a pair of arms wrap around her shoulders. She relaxed her body and leaned into the strong pair of arms that held her. She looked up and seeing his eyes closed, quickly buried her face in his shoulder-length, teal colored hair. She sniffed it, taking in his smell; he smelled like shaved ice and sea salt.
"Are you sniffing me?" He asked, finally opening his eyes. Hinoe responded by closing her eyes and nodding, further burying her face into his neck. "That's weird, you know that right?"
"I'm weird, aren't I?" He let go of her and pulled away. "No, you're not. You're amazing, Hinoe. You're probably the greatest thing to ever exist." She shook her head and stood up, taking his hand. "Misuto-kun...you think so highly of me. But I don't quite understand why," she giggled. They began to walk hand in hand down the empty beach.
He shook his head. "Well of course you wouldn't. And I'm gonna make sure that you never do." She smiled again and let out a content sigh. She understood the extent of his crush on her; and she knew she didn't reciprocate half of what he felt towards her. It was mean of her, but it wasn't like she didn't like Misuto. In fact, she enjoyed his company a great deal and could even say she liked him. But she didn't love him. She couldn't love him.
"Misuto, you're so difficult." Misuto looked away, blushing slightly from her teasing. "It's not really anything special, and I don't really think that highly of you! Besides, you're not that special, and I-"
She hugged him tight, and he threw his arms up in embarrassment. "What the hell, Hinoe! L-Let go of me!" She just smiled at him knowingly, and he returned the hug quickly, not wanting to miss out on this opportunity. Breaking apart, he grabbed her hand and looked away before she could say anything to him. Shocked, she looked at him, but then turned away, a slight blush on her cheeks. The silence allowed her to focus on her thoughts.
She could always try to love him, but she couldn't get past the feeling of simply 'liking' him. They were certainly opposites, but they worked well together; however, there were some aspects of him she uneasy of. Those things made her doubt if they could even have a future together.
"Misuto...I want to tell you something." He looked at her, not saying anything. "I...I really like you, you know that?" He gave her a rare genuine smile, and his eyes held a warmth that he reserved only for Hinoe. "Same here but...you're a real sap you know that?"
Hinoe pouted then, but grasped his hand even tighter than before. "Wouldn't that make you a sap too?" He waved his hand dismissing her. "Yeah, whatever, let's just get you back home."
Together, the two walked from the beach to the Shinozaki household, where Hinoe, once again feeling like teasing Misuto, kissed his cheek lightly.
A/N: I tried writing HinoexMisuto! And I'm preeeety sure it wasn't really too good. BUT, that's only because I don't know how to write either character well (a crappy excuse, but with good reason: Hinoe isn't really in the games, and Misuto...well, I don't remember his personality from BD, or at least how to write it.) But I wanted to try it, so I did. And here's what came out. I'm sorry for the OOC-ness, but like I said it can't be helped. Oh, and I was thinking about uploading a multi-chaptered fic soon, but I don't know. If I do though, I want to write out at least most of the chapters before school starts for me (September 4th) so I don't know. But anyways, please, please leave reviews! I'd probably at least try harder to post more, but ehh, what can you do? Hope you enjoyed!
