AN: I have been free this week from some of my responbilities and start re-working some older stories. They still have the same end game but I wanted to fix some grammar and glaring errors that have annoyed me for a while. So, this story is out of the dustbin and on the proverbial backburner until I finish my other stories and one-shots
Øyvind Marius strained to keep the section of the sky trench from falling. Defending Arcadia was difficult as the Dalek forces continued to pour in. The men of the 21st Raiders, 1st Platoon, affectionately known as "Hell's Raiders" continue to hold the line. Øyvind's father is The Doctor and his mother was, is River Song. He rushes the trench and scoops up another child away from the death beams of the Daleks. He grips his FN–900 plasma rifle tight as he fires back into the oncoming Dalek force. He did not want be another casualty but that didn't matter, what did matter was to escort the civilians to safety. Evac was our main but we quickly became a front lines unit and our special training meant squat against the Daleks. We can kill em' easier because of special training but there was triple the losses. He listens to the wind and he hears a TARDIS arrive and wonder who would come to Arcadia now in a TARDIS no less. A man emerges from the box and looks lost and scared. Øyvind runs and grabs him quickly and orders him to get the bloody ell' down. The man stares at Øyvind 's tired face as he as strain against the gunfire and explosions rocking the ground. The Raider stands up and orders another fall back when he get hit square in the chest with shrapnel and debris from a falling building. The blood is the first thing he sees and his yelling for his men to fall back into the next trench because we have lost trench ECHO. Hopefully the lads at trench BAKER are hopefully still alive.
He yells at Odi Delta to keep the civvies in line and get them out this war zone. Odi looks back at him and the order is understood, Odi is in command now. Øyvind hates this as he crawls down and with a scowl he counts down his fate. They dare attack Arcadia, they dare to attack Gallifrey as young Timelords die, so the Council can have another day of stalling with bull crap politics of the Higher Order. As a Colonel, he didn't know much of the inner politics but he did know how to keep a regiment up but, that is all gone. The man he grabbed is still with him and he offers him a last resort cigarette he declines as polite as a man can be.
Øyvind asks how this day has been and he says that it has been jolly rotten. The Raider agrees with him and Øyvind notices the familiar beat of the two hearts and he knows who this Stanger is. His father came to be with his son as he died in the last Time War. Øyvind ask him how Mother is and he says he doesn't know no more. They shrug and he asked if Øyvind has a woman. He shakes his head and Øyvind asks him if he could heal the wounds. He says that he would have to take him away from the fight and he knows that his son would be crushed. Øyvind knows that that he needs to leave leave but he can't quite do it. It hurts him to see the city that he grew up to be burning and the fires that burn around them. He can hear the old memories of his younger self and Ma and running down to the pond. She would hold me in her lap and teach him about the different types of fish including the one on Earth where she was from. Her favourite fish was the koi because, like Timelords they lived for hundreds of years and were revered as wise beings. He grins at the many memories that him and his Ma had made here in Arcadia. Øyvind asks his dad to hug him before he sends him away from the fight. The Doctor gives him a tight hug as he programs his son's Battle Tardis to take to a more peaceful time and he smiles, he will send her to some who needed a hero most, Ada Gillyflower needed a Raider right about now.
Øyvind feels disoriented as he tries to right himself after making such a big leap in time. His battle armor quickly shifts into a tweed suit and his skin begins to scab over. The air felt different and the sun was not even close to the bright glow of Arcadia's dual suns. He fell into the street and reeled at the loss of his planet, nothing would ever make this right, nothing. His father meant well but he should have left him in that sky trench. The hiss of pressurized air signaled that he must be on Earth sometime in the 19th century. He did not look up and heard yelling that he did not understood as a carriage
"You drunkard, you dare slow the progress that Mr. Sweet tries to make on this Earth?" the woman yelled at him as he covered his ears. She continued to screech when another man hopped out of the carriage and calmed the woman down, helping her back into the carriage and continued their way.
Øyvind got up out of the gutter and walked along the cobbled streets, his whole species, gone. He knew that some like The Master and his Father would always come back around, they were survivors. There was another downside, he knew no one in this period and his Battle Tardis could only do so much. The translator was wonky so it would take a while for him to understand English and there was always Jack Harknesses running around and he despised those who just flaunted their immortality around like it was candied jelly bellies. He need to devise a plan and he quickly ruffled through his pockets, ah physic paper that would come in handy for lodgings and now he just needed a good excuse of why he didn't speak English. Øyvind would pretend to be Swedish and that way his speaking difficulties would have a better cover.
