Loss-A-Rooney

Disclaimer: I do not own Liv and Maddie

Maddie sobbed on her bed as she held onto Sadders the little pillow her mother brought out along with Mr. Punchy in case she got mad. Karen rubbed her back saying soothing words but Maddie was lost in her thoughts. They was no more Miggie. No more hand holding, movie nights, or kisses. She was going to miss his soft lips. Maddie wondered what her first encounter post breakup with Diggie would be like. She couldn't be the awkward girl she was before they started dating and she couldn't exactly be relationship Maddie. She'd probably try to avoid him until he was out of her system. She jumped up startling Karen as she went to the closet. She dug around until she found what she was looking for, a small box with notes, pictures, and receipts from her relationship with Diggie. She went downstairs and out the back door with her mother following closely behind her.

'Maddie honey, what are you doing,' Karen asked as Maddie was dumping everything from the box onto the grill.

'I just want to burn it all and forget he exists,' Maddie said kind of hysterically.

'I know sweetie but you're emotional right now. How about I take everything and if you still feel this way in a few days I'll buy the industrial size lighter fluid and help you.'

After thinking about it Maddie relented and gave her mother the box to hold.

~Three hours later~

Maddie starred at the ceiling. She couldn't bring herself to sleep. She had too much on her mind. She still couldn't believe that Miggie was over. It had taken them so long to get together only to be torn apart by his unwillingness to sacrifice for her. She had put her life on hold waiting for him to return only to realize the Diggie that left was not the one who returned and he may never be. She wouldn't cry or waste anymore tears on him. Yes, she was hurting but she was more determined to never be hurt again. She got out of bed and woke Liv.

'What's going on? Is the house on fire? Save my shoes,' Liv exclaimed as she shot up.

'Shhh! You'll wake mom and dad. I can't sleep and I need you to take me somewhere.'

~Twenty-seven minutes later~

Liv held the heavy bag as best she could as Maddie furiously punched it. Liv's "twin-stict" was telling her something was seriously wrong with her sister. Surely the breakup couldn't be affecting her this badly.

'So, you had a little extra energy and wanted to burn it off?' Maddie didn't respond. She just kept pummeling the bag with increased force making Liv shake. 'Maddie, I'm here for you. You know that right. You can tell me anything.' Maddie stopped punching and looked at her twin. A mixture of anger and sadness displayed on her face.

~Flashback~

'Maddie maybe we should break up,' he said.

'Wow,' was all she managed to get out after the shock of what he said wore off.

She slowly took off his letterman's jacket hoping the whole time he'd take back what he just said. She fought off the tears as she extended the jacket to him. He seemed to be wavering but ultimately broke her heart as he took back his property. With an exchange of 'okays' her first loss was solidified. She broke down and cried as her mother tried to comfort her.

~End flashback~

'Yea, you broke up mom told me the story,' Liv said after Maddie told her what happened.

'I lost Liv.'

'What?'

'I lost. I could have won. I could have broken up with him before he broke up with me but I hesitated. I let my heart take over thinking we could be and I lost.'

'Love isn't some game Maddie. It's . . . love,' she said not finding the right words to express herself.

'Everything is a game and I won't lose again.'

With that Maddie began punching the bag again picturing Diggie's face the whole time.

End. R & R.
